know anyone who's commited suicide?
 

since the boards so light hearted at the moment :roll: i thought i'd stick this one on cos i seen it on another forum and was pretty intrigued by the amount of replies so.....

do u know anyoen whos committed suicide and how. why they done it?

a guy i grew up with did a couple of years ago. ive told u about this on the board a couple of times. a guy called peter, his mum was in a wheel chair and didnt have a dad since i knew him so he'd had to look after her form a pretty young age. anyways we all used to hang out together when i was younger. then when i had just turned 17 my sister came in one night and said u remember peter u used to hang about with, he overdosed at the weekend. he'd just had enough of having to look after his mumk with no one to help him i guess and killed himself. he would have been in his last year at school if he'd still been there. i still remember the assembly the next week when the staff announced it to everyone who didn't know and the 1st thing they said was "they say that no mans an island" and it just reminded me of the lyric from santa fe and always think about that now whenever iu hear the song.

that was a reeeaaalllyyyy close example of one. my girlfriends dad's mate hung himself during the year cos he'd divorced from his wife n all. i didn't know him personally but i knew his son from the year below me in school and it was a pretty shitty thing to do.


my girlfriends little sister and mate came close to killing themself during the year overdosing on caffeine tablets tho they didn't mean it. they thought "wee're going out but don't like dirnking. I know e'll take 32 caffeine tablets each" no one really realised hw serious it was till her friend got took to the hospital cos she was freaking out and being sick and we had to take ashleas sister in and got told if they'd took 1 more they wouldn't have even made it through the nite never mind to the hospital.

I knew a kid who was threathing to hang himself, untill he slipped.....

you mean on purpose? Suicide to me may not be necessarily on purpose, you know the overdose or being too high to ride that motorcycle.

I had a boyfriend who got himself killed riding his motorcycle while being high as a kite (and I will never forgive him for that). Two very close friends that (inadvertantly) overdosed, and a couple of close friends that just killed themselves because they felt they had to. I still have an ex-boyfriend who suffers from severe depression and has had several suicide attempts and probably will continue until, one day, he succeeds.

That is not counting the times I stood at that ledge myself.

My cousin tried a couple years ago ... He had probs at school and din't felt good in his own scin ... He took overdosis of pills but it failed luckely ! After treatment he regretted what he done ...

my cousin jumped into the river thames 2 years ago and died.

and i know couple of others who have tried it, be it drowning,wrist cutting, etc etc...

a friend of mine cut her vains a few years back :( she locked the bathroom and had a bath and then she cut herself :(

she was saved but she hasnt been speaking since and has been in a psychiatic hospital and nobody but her family is allowed to visit :(

One of my former students hung herself by a rope in her closet. She was adopted and always had a hard time dealing with it. :(

Yes, my brother. It was 2 years ago, He went round my dads house and dad has a gun cabinet because he used to use them for sports, never agreed with it but there you go.. It was locked and everything but shaun somehow opend it, Im not sure if he smashed it or found the key somehow, But anyway he got a gun and shot himself and his dad found him. He was always a really happy, smiley guy so noone would have thought he wos depressed let alone depressed enough to kill himself. He was 17 and in the last year at school, when he done it it was around the time he was taking exams, he was really bright and he loved science. I still remember the last tiem i was with him, we were listhening to bon jovi in my room, and he was saying how he wnated to be like jon and he really admires him. The funeral was the worst thing ever. He wrote my mum a letter saying how he wanted the funeral to go like, wot songs ect but nothing saying "i love you" or "its not your fault" ...

is this topic really scaring anyone else or just me?
