Five Pounds

Some of you may remember that 2 weeks ago I was complaining because my office mates were all carrying on about the Atkins Diet and I swore I was goign to loose weight in a completely healthy and balanced way over Christmas break? I'm very excited to say I've lost 5 lbs and haven't restricted anything out of my diet. I've been eating less and drinking even more water than usual and exercising a little more. :) I can't wait to tell Mary Ann. LOL

I know the feeling. I stored my treadmill at my cousin's when we moved, and my husband hurt his back so he can't get it yet. I am lost without it and am afraid it will be very hard to get back into the routine. :(

Congrats Becky!! That is really good especially with it being the holidays and all. :D

ok... a question for y'all... do you reckon a gym has advantages over regular excercide... cause i do a lot of excercise and it dont seem to help... i plan to start swimming again anyhow.. but you reckon gym helps?

might consider it if so

Becky 01-02-2004 03:14 AM

I walk. I have a treadmill and a "gazelle" type thing in my house so I don't have to get out in the cold.

I think the main thing for me is drinking more water because it makes me feel full. Since I started work, I don't constantly drink water like I used to and I've gained weight.

I've also eaten meal replacement bars instead of regular meals at night several days or cooked really lean meat and low fat veggies at night. A doctor once told me that if I wanted to loose weight to not eat anything but fruit after 4:00 because you tend to work use what you eat during the day moreso than what you eat at night.

Swimming is the best thing to do!! It is a all over body workout with no stress on your body.

I think as long as you do something for about 40-45 minutes, three or four times a week, you should be fine.
