Doctors...
 

I havent been right for ages .. And have had enough counclours (sp??) to last me a life time and i know there is something wrong with me, So i went to the doctors today and wos excited cos i wos hoping they would sort me out and hopefully put me on some kind of medication. So i went all they done wos asked wots wrong so i said and they told me they are gonna write to the family support group to get someone to come talk to me. I must have been in there 3 minutes. He wos clearly not taking it seriously cos of my age and i asked if i could go on something and he said no cos of my age. He didnt give me the time of day. Last time i went to the doctors for the same reason he simply said "its your age" and got me counciling. It doesnt help, And i already ahve it at school. Should their be an age limit on medication if someone really needs it? I dont think its fair. And why should a doctor tell me its just my age? I know what it is myself and i need something for it...

I find that guy highly unresponsible. :evil: What a jerk.

You need to find another docter. Tell him you are about to end it, even if you wouldn't dream about it, but it WILL get you attention. Over here, they have questionaires you fill out, kind of a check list with points, the more points, the worse your condition and you doctor better put you on meds. While counseling might help, you still need to get your chemistry right.

I have the other problem, my doctor wants to ask too many questions and I don't want to answer any of them. :roll:

oh, and it is not your age and there shouldn't be an age limit (though, I wouldn't medicate a 5 year old).

Oh i have seen two doctors about it now - They just dont like to put younger people on medication, But what has it got to do with age? I know for a fact what i have and i went in their telling him what it wos, And i dont think he liked that. I already have counseling at school and had afew at home too. They obv dont help me and i obv need medication. The worse thing is he just didnt hardley speak to me, Couldnt have been in their longer then 3 mins.

can't the school counselor send to someone who knows how to deal with your situation?

is there anything you like, goose? there are great doctors, good doctors, normal doctors, bad docs and also idiots- you just have to go and find one that suits you best....

to your problem jade: don't know your age and i don't know what you think you have- if it's sth. physical the doctor should have made a physical checkup- if it's sth. psychological he should give you some adresses you can go to! many docs don't take the problems of younger ppl seriously enough and it seems to me that these docs were 2 of them. but on the other side docs shouldn't give medications to everyone that feels the need of them cause by far not everyone really needs them... and if it's a mental thing medication should be the last resort
