Bounce - Have Bon Jovi completely lost it?
Is bounce the worst album that a so called rock band has ever done? Well, the answer is no, Crush was much worse, but this ranks second!
I just don't understand this band, they can potensially be one of the best, if not the best, rock band in the world, but since 1993 everything they have done has been ordinary (These Days), or so bad I'm ashamed to call myself a Bon Jovi fan. What's with the drum machines. For Christ's sake, they have one of the best drummers in the buisness, why the hell do they need to have some crap boom di boom in the background. I was listning to the Jon Lord interview on Total rock the other night, and just before it started they played a song of Bon Jovi's, and were basically reiterating what I've said about it. That the band have been brilliant, but now just write average pop albums. I think that although as fans you want to support the band, and I myself bought the album first day (and against all my instincs haven't taken it back) we should all just not buy the album. If every fan did it, the band would realise that it's not what the band wants to hear, and they may start to think about being a rock band again. Please don't anybody try telling me that there is even one rock song on this album, because there isn't. The band need to listen to songs like Fear, Homebound Train, Let It Rock, In And Out Of Love, Runaway e.t.c, and remember what rock and roll sounds like. We all know that Bon Jovi are going to be great live, it would be nice if they could do the other half of being a band as well, and make a good record. Also, is it just me or has David Bryan forgotten how to play keyboards! He was never in the same league as Emerson, Lord, Wakeman, Jan Hammer e.t.c, but he was always ok. Now, he's just a liability, with no imagination, who adds nothing to the music. Bon Jovi has never been an keyboard band, but I think that if he just brought out his Hammond and a Moog, Bon Jovi would be the better for it, if not, fire him! (this is the keyboard player in me talking) |
Blah blah blah blah + an ad...

I think you are gonna have a lot of people disagree-ing with you!
I personally perfer Crush to Bounce (I know I'm in the minority). I also prefer all the post-90 albums to the 80's albums. Whilst I love some of the 80's songs (Prayer, There For You) I think These Days is the bands best album and I doubt they'll top it (I hope I'm wrong though). As for Dave Bryan - I think his playing on Bounce is superb and fits well with the whole album. On another point - if the band hadn't evolved and were still writing and playing 80's rock songs they wouldn't be here today (see Poison, Cinderella, and any number of other similar bands) - those that are still around are not selling out stadium across Europe anymore. Edit - P.S. I'm not checking your website out on principal - I realise your whole post was supposed to infuriate us into looking at it. |
YAWN and you want us to check out your band LOL. Your on the wrong site.
