Again, Google with "remove mydoom", and in seconds:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/scite...ag_040127.html
http://www.webattack.com/get/msdoomrem.html
etc.

It's not that hard.

Geeze Ryan - get a good anti-virus program and keep it updated along with your windows updates. It's far too painful to lose 4000 file in my opinion. :(

in answer to the origins of the viruses, though, they are usually created by hackers looking to expose flaws in microsoft's operating systems. microsoft seem to think that they are above everyone so it's usually quite funny when say Cult Of the Dead cow finds a massive security breach.

On pandasoftware.com, on the right of the page, click on facilities, it will ask a few details, you can answer, you won't be harrassed, then you can use the anti virus you want, remember give the download the name of the virus because if you have more after you won't recognise them.
There is also a free scan ......

In my opinion - for free online tests and scans - nothing beats Trend Micro's House Call. http://trendmicro.com Their strong point is corporate software (that's how I know them) but their online support is very handy.
