Remote control.

I was wondering if anyone knows...

My portable CD player included a remote control. A few days ago it stopped working, except for the volume, which works normally. Does anyone know if these remote controls are sold individually? The guy at the shop I went to wasn't very sure about it, but he said that in case they are actually sold individually it would cost me about 40 euros

Has any of you had this problem? Does any of you know if I can buy it and whether it's true that's the price? :?:

Thank you! :D

You might want to contact the company, see if they can give you a replacement remote. Many companies are quite good about this, and will usually only charge shipping costs. Or (and this is a remote possibility, pardon the pun) you could take it somewhere to be repaired.

I think repairing it would be as expensive as buying a new one or as buying the whole CD player for that matter.

But the company is Aiwa, so I'll check their webpage and see if they can answer :) I don't think if they can send a new one it will be for free, though :?

Thanks!

Yes, you can usually get universal remotes, just go to a big electronic store and they should have them.

I wrote to Aiwa before, so I'm hoping they'll answer too! It's just that it bothers me to take the whole thing out of my bag ecery time I want to skip a song or stop it or whatever :x

Did you ask in the store though? I know here they keep them behind the counter.

Yes I did, and the guy told me he *thought* yopu could get them but he wasn't sure and they didn't have them there anyway. And if they were available I'd have to pay like 40 euros, which I think it's a little too expensive for that, bearing in mind that the whole CD player will cost about 100 euros at most!

But, hey, maybe the guy was new or stupid or it was a bad store after all... :P

I'm not sure they sell universal remotes for CD players. I thought those were only available for TV/VCR systems. I could just be ignorant in this area, I don't do much with audio systems.

if it was a remote on the wire type thing then no... otherwise possibly, but it is probably not gonna be worth it.
