Can we handle this discussion?

Do you think that the band is overrated? Or, maybe, underrated? Or about right?

Do you think they got to 100 mill. records sold mark because they are that good, or simply because MTV used to hype them in a big way? Maybe some other reasons?

Do you think they've run their course? Or not yet?

What do you think the future holds for them?

There is an expression "Out of sight, out of mind". Is this how it will be with Bon Jovi and their music? Or will not?

i think this disucsison has happened a zillion times on this board...

i think they are quite underrated and overlooked and dismissed, as are the individual band memebrs cos of the product of the band...

100mill? well u dont be utter nonsense and be going strong for 20yrs...sure they got promotion who doesnt?

nah they havent run course, merely evolved, but i personally think they will be hitting the straight soon ish.

future? more evolving and carving a nich as artists for themselves, i think they will end up producing more stuff agaisnt the grain which wont appease the mass but themselves.

out of sight out of mind was never a problem b4 so i dont see why it woudl be now :?

Their niche as artists? What IS their niche as artists? Does it exist? I think that's the problem with Bon Jovi. That's exactly why they are often considered derivative and not important. How can they as artists be satisfied with this?

This band is so talented but their talents are wasted because they were net able to find themselves as artists. And unfortunately it may be too late to be changed now. Or, maybe, they are not as talented as I think they are. And never were. I don't know.

MTV supported Crush but did not support Bounce and look what happened. Looks like MTV support important for them.

mtv did not support crush! they played it's my life because it was on every other channel at the time. they played it because had they not, they'd have lost a lot of money. bon jovi's association now seems to be solely with VH1.

I was going to say the same thing. It's My Life was the most requested video on VH-1 for the entire summer and was a huge radio hit before MTV added it to it's rotation.

So you think that if MTV had not played It's my life, it would have not influenced the success of Crush (and resurrection of Bon Jovi in the US) in any way?

there are a million-and-one other music channels so it wouldn't have had much difference.
