Why coz they went to Man United??. It is not fair to call player or person like thtat just coz he moved to other club, tomorrow if they are not performing or injured for long time, same team will sell them off to some unknow club without thinking twice. and most of them have pretty short carrier. I don;t like when people change a opnion on a person just coz he changed the club

Well I think this discussion has been done to death but basically Rooney and Smith both pledged themselves to thier "boyhood clubs". Smith lied to the fans by saying he'd never move to Man U (being Leeds biggest rivals). Without sounding patronising, its not something you would understand unless you lived here and attended matches, the rivalrly runs pretty deep.

For example, when 2 Leeds fans got killed in Turkey, Leeds played Man U the week after. The Utd fans were cheering about it and sang songs gloating about their deaths - thats just sick. Ok not every Utd fan is like that but it shows how much the clubs hate each other.

UKjovi 10-20-2004 12:09 PM

i think smith because he left leeds in the shit while rooney was just out to make money

I know it has done to death and it is so sickning to hear so much hatred for a brightese player of ur own country, it is also sick to have so much rivalery between ur own teams,.Any sports are meant to be have in good spirit and tp witness a good sports and not to bring hatred between people  I rahter watch my team lossing in great match with full good spirit then see winning in a match which is full of hartred.
And any and every player moved to some other club one day and why Smith has to say in Leeds in first place, they are not even in Primership anymore and why fan has to chose where and what he has to play?? And he knows that same fun will dump him for some other player if he is not performing well to his mark. And i'm sure if u were a player in his possition u would have done the same thing as both those player.

And i don't want to be part of any sports where hatred is all u get.

That is just sicking and i wonder u guys carry a gun while going to wathc a match? coz this sound more like war then sports to me. Well u may say i never understand untill i live there, well i don't want to understand hatred anyway.

allmike 10-20-2004 07:09 PM

Perfect love

V Hatred someday kill your self or not?

UKjovi 10-21-2004 09:23 AM

Hatred isnt a good thing but i dont think it would kill you

Was it windy with you last night?

Neurotica80 10-21-2004 09:28 AM

No......

Allwyn Its not hatred in most cases its just passion, which some would say make football what it is. No I dont hate Alan Smith either, If he pulls on an England shirt i'll support him, just don't like what he did. Everyone knew he was going but the simple fact is life long Leeds fans (which is what he said he was) dont pull on Man Utd shirts. Fans show loyality, I dont see why players cant either.

2004: good or bad?

allmike 10-21-2004 10:11 AM

Yeah understand what u said . But mocking about death of fan is too much IMO and also making racist comment(hope it won't happen much there).

Ye4ah 2004 was best year for me in long run, it is new life and new start for me and i hope to buld from this :D And made lot of friends(even from internet, IMO they are real friends to me). But i also felt very lonly at some point of time and still got lonly heart here. But as a whole i got more then what i expected and i really hope coming year will be only make it better :)

V what about u?

Neurotica80 10-21-2004 10:20 AM

I agree, fans do go to far and cross that line.

I'm sure 2005 will be the year you find love Allwyn. 04 has been a mint year for me :) But im hoping 05 will be even better!

Do you want Kids??

Kev 10-21-2004 10:25 AM

This is my first post in one of these threads for a long long long time and this post wont be playing the game. Its simply to back Carli up on this one. What Alan Smith did was an absolute discrace to not only his club, but to the loyal followers of Leeds United as well. He has been a Leeds supporter all his life, and IF! he was a proper fan himself, then he would realise how much any 'Genuine' Leeds fan fans Manchester United. To decide to join a club like Manchester United, when you have been a lifelong Leeds United fan all your life is nothing but a discrace in my opinion (and im sure many others too).

Alan Smith has done the dirty on his boyhood club and stabbed all their fans in the back, having origionally said that he would never play for another club, never mind the clubs biggest rivals. If I supported Leeds, he would now be on my most wanted list. Like Carli said. Allwyn your right though, football shouldnt be about hatred but often it is. Its all about Passion. Thats what football is all about. Passion is what I love most.

I dont have a bad bone in my body, but given the chance I would love to give Wayne Rooney a good punch in the ribs, because he has done exactly the same as Alan Smith. He said he loved Everton Football Club. He claimed he would never wish to play for another team, yet as soon as an offer comes along where more money is involved, he snatched Manchester United's hand off. He was in it for the money. Just like Alan Smith. We all know that. But, if he was a loyal fan and loyal player of the team they have supported all their lives, then no way would either of them join a team like Manchester United. Manchester United fans are hated (almost ) just as much here in Liverpool, as they do in Bradford where Carli lives. Perhaps if Wayne or Alan had moved to different clubs, then maybe, just maybe, we wouldnt hate them so much. But the fact that the pair of them joined Manchester United, their biggest rivals, thats what myself and Carli hate so much. I would never invite him back to play for Everton now after what he did. He tourned his back on the club and the supporters. I will never forgive him. This is just the passion for my team that runs through my blood.

allmike 10-21-2004 10:54 AM

lol Kev, it is not attack on Carli and she know it  and i don't think she needed backup
Anyway i know all these thing, but still don't agree it........ Is this is the reason why national team not able to perform what they should have?. I mean it appar to me that team is so divied. Well anyway it doesn't concern me much but i can't stand is when someone put sig or make statment saying how much they hate someone(who apprently loved by same person few days back). Well i do think if u would have been a player, u have done same thing no matter how much u loved ur team... And i'm sure u disagree but again i don't want to continure this argument  I understand what ur saying, just don't agree thats it .

V i love to have a couple of kids and if or when i find someone who is crazy enough to be a mother of my kids

V do u?

Kev 10-21-2004 11:01 AM

oh no, I didnt mean for you to think of it is an 'argument' as such. I was just tell you my point of view mate. I just agree with carli on this coz I am in the same boat as her right now. Hating one player who we used to love. I actually think its good that you disagree Allywn. Seriously. If we all had the same viewpoints, then life would be really boring. Its good that we can discuss things like this, without it getting heated. As i said, I just wanted to put my points forward to let you know, its not just Carli, who is hating a certain player at the moment. Im sure it will actually be the same with a lot of fans, in this country at least.

I would never 'argue' with you Allwyn. I dont particularly argue with people from Jovitalk. Good discussions is what the forum is all about. :)

UKjovi 10-21-2004 12:03 PM
