What do you listen to your cds on ? ADVICE PLEASE
 

Hello,

Ok Im fed up , as a just older lady, I was brought on cassette tapes. They used to break/get chewed up sometimes and it was always a pain trying to fast forward and rewind to find the exact song you wanted to play over and over again.

So I was quite impressed when the CD was born and learnt how to use a cd player. However these cd players are rubbish. I am on my 4th player in 18mths.

I have tried cheap ones, mid range ones, + expensive ones, doesnt seem to make a bit of difference, I always end up with cd player that cant read the cds. Does anyone know why this keep happening?

So the only way to listen to a cd now is on the pc cd player , how long will that last !

I have to buy another cd player and was just wondering what types/brands of cd player you use.

You have really bad luck with CD players. Are you making sure your CDs are kept clean and scratch free?

Im very careful, one of the cds is only a few weeks old but the cd player still wont read that , so I know it is the player and not the cd. The pc cd player reads all the cds ok . Just dont want to splash out on another cd player that will only last a few months. How long have you had your cd player ?

I've had mine since 1991. The first CDs I bought were Blaze, New Jersey, and Blood on the Bricks. The only time I had trouble with it was when it had some dust in it which I blew out with a hairdryer. I think it's an RCA... nothing fancy at all.

I usually listen to CDs while driving though.

Personally I spend most of my time at my PC so have my music in mp2 format to listen to, and in my room I don't even have a regular CD player, just my DVD player with surround system, and that plays CD, SACD and MP3CD, so I can just play all of mine on that and they are fine...plus Dolby Pro Logic II makes them sound even better.

What types of CD players have you had though Dawn, top loading portable type ones or tray loading ones? Whatever type you have had, maybe try another type?

My cds are played once on my computer - then I make copies of it and play them in the car and my DVD player. I sometimes have problems with my car cd player - but I think it is because of the cheap disks I use to make a copy.

Some CD players don't like copied, CDRs or unofficial CDs. I had a player which was good for two years, then I got my CDRW and starting writing my own CDs, and it was knackered within a month. It won't read most CDs now, and those it does read it doesn't read too well, and often skips back and forward at random intervals. I've been content with playing all my music on my computer, but of course that is not always practical. I recomend you get a system that will play CDR/CDRW and also MP3 CDs. You can get one for no more than £200 and it'll probably last you a good while, as it will have been manufactured to play almost any kind of CD. Also MP3 CDs rock. Imagine fitting all you BJ albums on the same disc. :)

I have mainly tried top loading portable cd players, different brands. I do have a DVD player that plays cds + the pc. But I like the portable ones in the office. kitchen and bedroom. I guess maybe its a problem with the portable type cd players then.

Ive never had a cd player that had stopped working

I play cds either on me pc, on the little thingy in the kitchen or in my seperates system..occasionally in my dvd player (seperate) but not one has ever broken O.o

you play them in the microwave? :shock:
