Jon not as good as i used to be
Just wondering if someone agree with me if i say that Jon voice sometimes sucks?
He should never started smoking, that was a bad move. |
There already is a topic called Jonīs Voice so no need to start zillion threads about same damn thing.

I personally don't think smoking has any great affect on the vocal chords. I'd guess out of the greatest lead singers of our time, Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, Bono, Sanatra, Elvis - most of those smoked. People just try to look for an excuse/reason as to why Jons voice has changed.

I know about the other same topic, but when I saw it it was to lait!! Sorry!

Jon's getting older. His voice is certainly not so good anymore.

Smoking does affect your singing voice actually, but it's not actually necessarily for the worse in my opinion. For example ideally you shouldn't smoke, drink/eat dairy products, drink alcoholo or anything like that but very few singers work in that way. Though the ones that do all have amazing voices that I know of.
I still maintain that in some cases it is that Jon has just ****ed up his voice, but that overall it is a lack of effort. When he wants to turn it on (which tends to be just a couple of mins per show: examples, KTF, Someday I'll Be Saturday Night during the 2003 tour), but most of the time he doesn't try to push himself. I always think of Jon's voice at its best with the image of him busking somewhere: Moscow, London etc singing Wanted with a husky voice. Those who say "Jon's voice is better cos he doesn't have to take steroids... yadayada" - most of you sound like you're quoting from interviews of Jon rather than giving your own opinion.
