From a Kean University Press Release...

BON JOVI'S RICHIE SAMBORA TO RECEIVE HONORARY DEGREE AT 149TH KEAN
UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT

UNION, NJ - Richie Sambora, lead guitarist and songwriter for the
internationally famous rock group Bon Jovi, will receive an honorary
Doctor of Humane Letters degree at Kean University's 149th
Undergraduate Commencement exercises on Thursday, May 6, at 9:30am
at the PNC Bank Arts Center, located at exit 116 of the Garden State
Parkway in Holmdel, NJ.

Sambora, the husband of actress Heather Locklear, is one of the
driving forces behind more than 100 million Bon Jovi albums that
have been sold throughout the world. He has co-written four No. 1
hit singles, 20 top-10 singles and nearly 40 top-40 songs, including
Wanted Dead or Alive, Livin' on a Prayer, I'll Be There for You, Bed
of Roses, and It's My Life.

Following his graduation from Woodbridge High School, Sambora
attended Kean University before leaving to pursue his musical
career. In 1983, Sambora met Jon Bon Jovi, lead singer of a fledging
group that bore his last name, and within weeks, became a member of
Bon Jovi. The band was signed to Mercury Records shortly thereafter.

A band proud of its New Jersey roots, Bon Jovi was at the forefront
of the entertainment community's efforts to aid the families
affected by the September 11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade
Center. Shortly after the tragedies, Bon Jovi participated at two
concerts for the Monmouth County Alliance of Neighbors in Red Bank,
NJ to raise funds for the families close to the band members'
hometowns. Bon Jovi also performed at the monumental Concert for New
York at Madison Square Garden, raising relief funds and honoring
those who worked to save lives immediately following the disaster.

Sambora has recorded a pair of solo albums as well. In 1991, he
released Stranger in This Town on Jambco Records, while his most
recent, Undiscovered Soul, was released by Mercury in 1998.

Sambora and Locklear were married in 1994, and are the proud parents
of a daughter, Ava Elizabeth.

He looks like a tit with that shirt open and that sweaty breast.

I think he looks too much like Jon with the straight hair and the open shirt (I don't mind though  )

Why do they get the same haircut? :? Is it 2x1 or something? :P

LonesomeScorpion 05-03-2004 09:24 PM

Didn't Jon get something like that too?
Btw, that picture is horrible. Happy for him anyway.

He's got this kinda irritating smirk on his face, like he's saying "I'm Richie Sambora and I'M BETTER THAN ALL OF YOU" :D

Keep On Rockin'

Good for him. :)

An honorary degree is one that is bestowed by a university as recognition for charitable contributions to society, talent, big donations to the university, or to get a famous speaker.

Yes, Jon got one from Monmouth University a few years ago. Humane Letters is probably the same thing as Humanities.
