Latest fan club mag
Got the latest mag in the post over the weekend. In it, Jon talks about the box set. He says it will be released in the autumn. They have 3 cd's of unreleased material, which will probably be narrowed down to 2. There will also b a b-side disk "for those who havent heard them all" plus a dvd of "all the fun stuff we've recorded of ourselves from down the years".
In addition, he says himself and Richie are writing...he'd like to record some demos in the next couple of months and would like to start a new record by the end of the year! thats all folks! |

In agreeance with Tom on this one. I think we all knew we would end up with a load of b-sides, so thats very predictable, but It will still be cool to have them all in one set. the dvd sounds fantastic , something like that can only be good though I think. Didnt for one minute think that the band would start recording so soon, I guess that also means we wont have a richie solo album just yet though which is a shame.

Don't write off solo albums etc, the band (hopefully) won't release any old album (I'm inclined to think they would actually! ), but I'd have thought they'd only release something they think worthy to release (but again proven wrong many times over last 7 years or so).
The DVD could be good, but we don't know any details, and I have a sneaking feeling it will end up being a sort of "bonus" disc, which has maybe at the very most 1 hours worth of footage. Hopefully by "fun" stuff they mean things like the jam with geldof, little steven, skid row, scorpions, things like that you know? |
He also said Richie was considering a solo project so whether we get a new BJ record next year I suppose depends on Mr.Sambora!

Doesn't sound too good, in my opinion. I always thought a Box Set was a big collection of tracks, usually on 6 or more CD's. Also, this leaves around 160 minutes of unreleased material. Not much for an archive filled with content from 1984.
This DVD, what's the betting that is just a few interviews mixed with some footage from Borgata, Wembley and Zurich ? |
