JBJ on Miller Beer can
http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...2181963&EDATE=
Miller pays tribute to 50 years of rock with a series of commemorative cans featuring past Rolling Stone magazine covers of legendary artists Elvis, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Blondie, Willie Nelson and Def Leppard, as well as the classic Fender Stratocasters used by Eric Clapton and Joe Walsh. The 24-oz. cans of American brewed Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft will be available in June and July wherever beer is sold in the United States. To further celebrate the "mark" that certain artists have left on the music scene, Miller is dedicating space in upcoming issues of Rolling Stone magazine that help commemorate the 50 Years of Rock. The creative executions, which will appear throughout the summer, will celebrate both the movements and experiences of music that literally transcend time and hold as true today as they did 50 years ago. I'm quite sure it's only Jon on the can even though they write BJ since they use old Rolling Stone Covers and BJ never were on the Cover of the RS. Jon was 2 times. |
This section is really interessting:
Miller will sponsor activities and events throughout the summer with the 50 Years of Rock and Roll celebration reaching its apex in New York City on September 17th and 18th, when yet-to-be-named artists will take the stage at the legendary Roseland Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan. Legendary artists paired with today's icons will be featured to celebrate 50 years of rock with unique collaborations and special guests. Each night will feature different artists to give consumers a memorable experience that pays homage to 50 years of great music. Jovihugs |
You know the story about the first Rolling Stone cover? They swore the band would be on the cover and that they were taking individual shots for the article. Then when they put just Jon on the cover he complained about it and they told him "We can't fit 5 guys on the cover." A couple of weeks later Peter Gabriel was on the cover with about 15 other people. But all Rolling Stone cared about was the fact that Jon's cover was the best selling issue ever at the time.

I love this answer of BJHQ. It an addition to what Becky already wrote:
Question: Hello there, is it true that "Miller Beer" are going to put a picture of Bon Jovi on there cans? Thanks in advance asked by mary (from scotland) on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 Answer: Technically, no. Miller put out a press release today (and we'll be permitted to post it tomorrow) with the details of a Rolling Stone/Miller Beer inititive celebrating rock 'n' roll. Several artists will have their famous Rolling Stone magazine covers donning Miller beer cans this summer. Now, BON JOVI (the band) has been featured twice as the main story in Rolling Stone magazine however, both times, the editors opted to put ONLY JON on the cover (thus exacerbated confusion even back then over the difference between Jon Bon Jovi, the man, and Bon Jovi, the band.) So, while all the mentions about projects and albums and tours in the accompanying Rolling Stone materials will be about the BAND, the image will be one of the two covers - and that obviously mean of just Jon. Nothing can be done about that - two cover shots exist. (Hint: the Miller can will have horse on it.) More news n the news section tomorrow. |
at least they put the better picture of Jon on the can...that's good!

We need to get Goose one of these for his kitchen beer can collection.
