a vocoder manipulates vocals eg Cher - Believe. it is a talkbox. i've been playing guitar for 10years, i do know.

I haven't heard the song so obviously I'm not totally sure, but if the distortion is on Richie's vocals then surely it would be the vocoder? I'm just confused that's all; you are right though, vocoder for vocal, talkbox for guitar

it's the guitar talking, so to speak.

richie is saying 'i want to **** you' through a combination of his playing and his mouth movement. if you've ever seen his solo shows, he does the same for bad medicine 'bad, bad medicine, is what i want'. quite a good little trick but a pain in the ass to master.

Ahhh, I get you now!! Just haven't heard it thats all. Anyone know where I could possibly get it?! (I know thats a stupid question, and I know all about the downloading stuff etc etc but I'm desperate!!!!!!! LOL!!)
