is always about love or stalking?
 

i always thought of the song "always" as a love song, but ive heard that apparantly its about a stalker who cant let go of his ex-girlfriend, and ive started listening to it in a different way now cos of that! now that i think of it, it does seem to be about obsession! which is funny cos apparantly loads of ppl have had it played at their weddings, thinking its a regular love song. i can see why youd think it is a love song (its got "romeo" in it for a start so that gets u thinking of eternal love and romance) but at the same time u can also interpret it as a stalker's song.
what do u ppl think of it?

I now think it's about a stalker as well, and I like it better becasue of that. Like I've said before, I could never place quite what I liked so much about it originally, but now I know its the kind of air of menace and desperation that it has

Jon said it's about a stalker at the Borgata concerts.

Before the song was ever released he talked about Romeo is Bleeding which is the movie that he wrote it for. He didn't like the finished movie enough to leave it for them to use. So, I've always thought of it from the movie perspective and never really saw it as a song about pure love.

Well Jon wrote it about a stalker for the movie, but with any song anyone can interperet it their own way, so if someone takes it to be a love song and wants to play it at their wedding then they can. There is no set way of lookin at a song.

I'm kind of an Always expert, so here's my personal opinion ;)

I don't really think it's about a stalker, even though Jon has said it is.
A stalker is indeed someone who can't let go of a previous lover (or just an admired person), and keeps on writing letters, making phone calls or just following the admired one. But Jack does none of this. He just thinks about her and he knows he'll love her always, but he doesn't mean to hurt her or so. But however, it's a very strong love that will not pass by as easy...

Yea, i heard Jon saying that Always was about a stalker. Before that I interpreted it as a love song. I see it differently since I heard Jon's description of it. Well, it makes sense if you listen to the words. It's doesn't make me like the song any less. It's a wonderful song.

Seems like it but it can also be interpreted as a love song. That's what's cool about it, you can take it any way you want...

The most famous wedding song of all time is "Every Breath You Take" by the Police and Sting has said that this was also a song about a stalker.
