update on my job

Today I spoke with the guy who is the one to help me find a new job, anyway to place me somewhere and he told me, I could go to a school and take a look for the next few weeks, do some lessons over there and decide if I like it ther. Then after holidaybreak they will offer me a full time job teaching kids with behaviour problems and learning problems. I also am alowwed to do a course, which I asked and they will pay for it and give me every week a day of to go threre. Well, should finally things get ok?
I hope so. I have been home for more then 6 months now on a sickleave and I must admit I get used to it.( lazy me) On th eother hand I loved my work, I know I am good at it, but I am a bit scared to go to a new place, start all over again. And...I hope they will not ask why I left the other school, why I had this major conflict with my colleges. I know I wasn`t wrong, they were, everyone says so, but I started to get insecure after all the accusations. I noticed I am really having a bit trouble with me and myself and not knowing how to cope and deal with all what happenend.
Anyway next week I `ll start, and we`ll see wha `s going to happen.

If you're afraid of them asking them why you left the other school you must feel some sort of guilt on your side either otherwise you wouldn't be afraid of them asking. Whenever most people tell a story they only tell one side of it and when everyone says it's not your fault but theirs I really wonder if they heard the side of the story from your former colleages.

I don`t want to defend myself agianst you, you were not there and yes they all did hear the stories from both side. And no I don`t feel quilt, I don`t want to talk about it anymore cause I have been talking about that for 6 months now. My former colleges admitted they were very wrong and they did that because they were jealous. And because they loved to talk about others and...because they judged without knowing. And that`s what you are doing right now.

Great news Inge. :D I know it is really hard when everyone keep draging ur past which u don't want to tell.,if ur not a guilt also u feel guilty sometimes and make u think what other think about u. But thing is after a while they going to make judgment on ur work in the new place rather then what they heard or so. So once u settledown at new place(i'm sure u will soon), everything will be alright. :P

Inge - all you need to do when asked why you left is that there was no personality match with your colleagues, that there were differences of opinion in work ethics and that you felt that their approach was not what would work for you. You can then stress that you are not one to rock the boat or be difficult but that you have strong work ethics and although you are flexible in many ways that their work ethics and yours clashed and became an unworkable situation.

Good luck!!! :D

I never said you needed to defend yourself against me just because of your career steps. I do wonder though if they heard the stories from both side from your moth or from both mouths. People often admit they were wrong after getting what they wanted (which was appearantly getting rid of you) since they forget the terrible things and suddenly feel sorry for the person they did the specific things to. But as soon as they find out one thing that caused that specific sort of troubles they're upset again in the highest form.

And I don't judge without knowing, I never judged the entire situation and gave clear statements about it. I only said that when people know they will be asked about several bad things that happened before in a same sort of situation they're only afraid of explaining it again when they know they are guilty of it too. If you think you're innocent you shouldn't be afraid of telling it but should feel proud you're no longer one of them.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
