Bon Jovi's arrival signals birth of "Hair Metal."

I was watching this last night and it is interesting to hear what other "metal" bands had to say about the band. One person from Anthrax I think, said that BJ gave a pretty face (flash to picture of Richie and Jon) to hair metal music. Another commented on how they made it more pop. The final person, I can't remember who, commented on how BJ turned hair metal mainstream. That comment made me chuckle, as some people think that BJ have been trying to turn mainstream over the past few years, when in fact it is something that they have been doing throughout their entire career. Anyway, the final compliment came from a few members of Tesla who credited BJ with being able to maintain their popularity throughout the years. It is an interesting show on VH-1 if anyone gets the chance to watch.

I saw it - oh what memories.

I thought the comment of BJ giving birth to hair metal was quite interesting. Thinking about it, they really did. I cannot think of any band that put glam into 'metal' as BJ did. So, in a sense they brought on the spandex, eyeliner, and hairspray revolution and, thus, actually were truly hated for that by the die-hard true metal fans.

BJ, Skid Row, Cinderella, Poisen, etc. were all called 'poseurs' by the 'true metalists' that listened to Black Sabbath and the likes. I remember it all too well

"They've gone commercial" is one of those things that always cracks me up. They've sold 100 million CDs. They've ALWAYS been commercial.

Yes, it is really good. I just haven't had time to sit down and watch all of it. What about Justin H. from the Darkness? He doesn't have much of a personality when interview him. :?

I saw the previews and forgot about it. Says it comes on tonight, so hopefully I'll be around to catch it. This was MY era and I remember it all except forT ed Nugent becoming the legal guardian of his 17-year old girlfriend.
