Ok, let's nip this in the bud before people provide more speculation as fact.
Yes, it's an OFFICIAL Japanese release that is now out of print. It was released in Laser Disc and VHS format. The audio was done by the band themselves obviously..given Jon completely re-did his vocals for this show. Audio tracks are officially available via the 7,800 F Japanese Remaster Bonus CD and One Wild Night - Live (edited). The performance of Hardest Part is the Night found on this same concert video is also found on the domestic Laser Disc release of Breakout - The Videos.
No, it is not a Mercury release. I am not actually certain of who the distributor was in Japan. In the USA..the Breakout Laser Disc was distributed by Pioneer. I can tell you that it isn't a Mercury release because Polygram, Mercury's parent company, did not start their own Video division until 1986. KISS Exposed was their first release.
