bruises

how long are they meant to last?

Kathleen 06-24-2004 05:31 PM

Only a couple of days to a week unless you have a whopper. If they last really long you should check with a doctor for problems.

2 months! That is too long. You should really go to a doctor just to see what is going on.

Yes - listen to Mouse - 2 months is way too long for a healthy young person, unless you keep bruising the same place over and over again.

 Two months is a lot! The big ones I usually have for a little over two weeks, and I'm slow in recovering!

Can't it be that, as Kathleen said, you keep getting one in the same place over and over again? I had one for about three months because I kept "crashing" with the same coffee table at home time and again. I told my mother to choose between my helth and the coffee table. She told me to be more careful and left the coffee table right where it was. So, in time, I learned

But you should see what's wrong with yours, Panama.

if it lasts for so long it could be some sort of internal bleeding :? altho im no expert - as every1 else says, u should see a doctor!

I bruise really easily as well. last winter I went snowboarding, and that is not a good thing if you're not looking for bruises. My knee was all black and blue. It was gone after a month or 2, but I still feel it if I bump my knee into something. My mom tells me its an internal bleeding and they hurt for a long time. maybe you got something simular.

The ones on my back are not going. The ones all down my leg and my arms went away in abt a few days. But my back hurts soooo much. And its absolutely kills everytime I sneeze.

But I dont want to go to the docs. Quite ironic really, but err you make it sound really dangerous. My blood vessels aren’t healing! Damn stoopid cells.

Ugh. Ill make an appointment. Thanks everyone
