Bon Jovi are victim of plagiarism!!!

I found out that the Dutch band TAXE is almost exactly copying Bon Jovi songs. If they've not stolen BJ's lines, then it's the typical Bon Jovi 'ideology' that speaks through most of their songs. In the Netherlands its known that Martijn, the frontman of the band, has always been a huge BJ fan. He was involved in the Starmaker show, a show that puts six people together who form a band and learn how to deal with the music business. In Starmaker we could see how Martijn tried to imitate Jon. He wears his hair the way Jon wore it during Keep the Faith and he makes the same move as Jon does during concerts. Very annoying. And now he's also stolen lines and ideologies from Bon Jovi. I presume you guys know the lyrics to the songs mentioned in this post, so I will only mention the website where you can find the (in my opinion) stolen songs by TAXE: www.taxe.nl. The site is in English, so it's easy for you to find your way. I would like to know what you think about it. Should the Bon Jovi management know about this? See below for examples.

Quote:

Bon Jovi ideology:

Alive and dangerous – compare this song to 'these days' and 'all I want is everything'. There's also a little similarity to 'it's my life'.

Brutal society - a strong tendency to Keep the faith and Hey God. Bon Jovi have regularly written songs about the ****ed up society and if an other band wants do to use this theme to, then they should try to be a little bit more original.

Cammy's song vs Queen of New Orleans: search for the likeness.

Devil in disguise vs You give love a bad name: view comment above

Copying is punishable, editing is tolerable (they think...); see this:

Taxe – Drive me insane

So close the door baby
And leave the world outside

Bon Jovi – Born to be my baby

Close the door
Leave the cold outside

Taxe – Drive me insane

Don't need a priest to say you're mine

Bon Jovi – Living in sin

I don’t need no preacher, to tell me you’re mine

Taxe – Drive me insane

I wanna be her holy water

Bon Jovi – Bitter Wine

What was once like holy water […]

Especially this one is very remarkable, for the term 'holy water' is not something that returns often in music
And these are only a few examples....

this is the band TAXE; the guy in the middle is Martijn.

I haven't watched the homepage you named. But they are not the first ones who try to copy BJ. Poison for example did it, too. If you look for example at their video of every rose has its thorn you see that it is nearly a 1 : 1 copy of the Wanted-video.

A successful band, no matter which one, will always have other band copying them hoping for the same success. It starts with old rockbands over boybands until today's casted bands. One of them is successfull so 10s of others will follow.

Aloha !

Hahaha oh yeh that's definitely plagiarism. I remember reading the booklet from the first CD from Starmaker, and there was one song on it written by Martijn. It was called Gina. The guy is a silly tit and a loser anyways. DJ's were making fun of him when he was singing lines in Starmaker songs by anouncing him as "Jon Bon...oh wait it's Martijn" just because he completely imitated Jon's way of singing, while it wasn't even Martijn's own voice.

lol, you're also from Holland? Yeah, it's ok to be inspired by bon jovi, but i think it's wrong when you're gonna copy their lines ... And Gina, where do I know that name from?

Yeh I'm a Dutchie and I'm not sure but I think I used to watch the show with my then girlfriend. He already said he was a fan of Bon Jovi, but the guy doesn't have his own style, everything is copied. I mean, giving your self written song the title Gina and then ending with the line "and never say goodbye" is a bit pathetic now isn't it.

Haha thanks for the link, funny to see him again and to see that he actually hasn't grown in performing but still looks exactly the same. No one will take them serious and they will always be seen as a boyband because of him having been a part of Starmaker. He couldn't do a coverband either, because he just can't reach the high notes Jon's capable of doing. Such a sad guy.

Martijn was a loser. He still is by the way

It's okay to be inspired by artists that you like, but I do agree that this borders to total copying...

But as Bono said in a song:
Every artist is a cannibal
Every poet is a thief

Very true

Tell me, why's it happening
Who is there to blame
Did God just look the other side
Well, isn't he ashamed

Oh no, tell me why, tell me why
Oh no

I just get a "Hey God" feeling of this.
