What other celebrities think of Bon Jovi?

I'm making a section for my new website that will include the bigger number possible of phrases said by various celebrities about Bon Jovi.
I'd like to have your help to find the major number of sentences, from every kind of celebrities: singers, actors, writers, showmen or showgirls and more...
Of course I'm interested in both positive and negative opinions about the band.

I'm sure you can help me! Thanks in advance!

Matteo

If you feel like scrolling through this forum, you will find a thread with the information you need. I recall a bunch of people posting celeb quotes about Bon Jovi, but I am not sure how long ago it was. :?

Matteo 07-05-2004 01:14 AM

I remeber that thread, and unfortunately the search function is no more available, because otherwise that one could have been my first reference!
Maybe someone can find that topic more easily, maybe someone else can post even more phrases than the ones of that topic!
Thank you one more time!

I can give you some exact quotes from other celebrities about Jon if you're interested, but if you want band-only, I don't have any handy.

my roommate told me you can search on sites using google. I am no expert on these things, but I thought you had to enter:
{what you are looking for} site:{name of the site}

but I'm not sure you have to use the word site. maybe it's something else. anyway: you can look at the google site for more info on this. and then you can search on this site for info.

by the way: cool idea

First of all, I want to say thanks to Nat for the quotes she sent me via PM. Nat, you rock!

Then, Becky, if you have quotes from other celebrities about only Jon, or only other single members of the band, even if not about the band as a whole, you're welcome! Thanks!

You have pre-conceptions when you're going to meet someone like Jon Bon Jovi. You know, you've got the 80's hair look and you're thinking rock star.... There was no acting. He didn't act. He just was. Which, for someone who's never done this before, was just mind-blowing. There's this duality to him which is really enticing. He has this enormous charisma coupled with this unbelievable down to earth quality which you don't see very often. It reminded me of when I worked with Tom Hanks.
--Elizabeth Perkins, co-star Moonlight & Valentino, (Rebecca), Bravo Profile 2001

I enjoyed it. All the women on the set enjoyed it. Girls from the art department, costume people, a couple of ladies from the office. All of a sudden there were all these people standing around the monitors watching Jon. He said "There weren't this many people here yesterday." I said, "No, honey, they were not. They're here to see you kiss me."
--Elizabeth Perkins about filming the kissing scene, Bravo Profile 2001

He's incredibly generous and thoughtful and just a sweetheart of a guy.
--Elizabeth Perkins, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

I pleaded but they didn't give me any love scenes with Jon...Jon is so very cute and he's equally charming. He's having great fun acting, but he insists he's a rocker to the core.
--Penelope Ann Miller, co-star Little City

What I found which was really pleasantly surprising I guess is how seriously he too it and he's really gone to acting classes and he's really a student and so he takes it very seriously and he's very dedicated and I think it shows.
--Penelope Ann Miller, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

He has this combination of being confident, yet humble and then sexy. So all that wrapped into one is really good.
--Penelope Ann Miller, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

"Jon's from a sort of blue-collar town, like his character, and immediately he had it all down--the cadence of speech, the look, the mannerisms. There was no rock-star nonsense. He'd hang out all day on the set, even helping the crew. He's totally professional, and you couldn't ask for a sweeter, nicer guy."
--Ed Burns, director & co-star, No Looking Back, Elle, 10-97

"He's got a real laid-back approach. He doesn't try to act. Jon's really natural in front of the camera."
--Ed Burns, US, 4-98

"Some singers don't get it. They don't realize it's an art form and people who really love it like I do and studied and take it seriously and take it as a craft and, ya'know, he really did and it was nice to see."
--Jennifer Esposito, co-star No Looking Back, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

"I think they put stereotpyes on people in this business, God knows, and I'm sure he's had to fight against that, ya'know, they see him as the rock star."
--Jennifer Esposito, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

"You meet him and you forget that he's a rock star. I think that's why he's so good in the movie. Ya'know, he's from this little tiny, he's from Sayreville, New Jersey and he's this regular guy. You forget that he's a rock star. Sometimes when you see the Superman tatoo you're reminded of some of those videos, but other than that..."
--Ed Burns, E! Celebrity Profile, 2001

Yes, before I met him, I did wonder about the wisdom of casting a rock star in the role. But he came in respecting the craft. He came in humbled by the craft. That's a great attitude because it shows that he is taking acting seriously. He didn't show up with any of that rock-star baggage.
--Matthew McConaughey (Lt. Andrew Tyler in U-571)

He's definitely professional. He came to work and he was ready to work and he seemed really focused to me. I think he always really cared about what he was doing.
--Will Estes, co-star U-571 (Rabbit, also star of It's My Life video), E! Celebrity Profile 2001

All the glitz and all the stardom is just like a piece of sketch paper for him. He deosn't have time for it, I don't think. I think he knows what's important.
--Will Estes, E! Celebrity Profile 2001

What's so cool is to find somebody who's had success for twenty years and for them to have not lost touch with reality, man. Jon really gets it. Jon is a family man. His family came down. His mother and father came down. Jon exudes family and loyalty.
--Darius McCrary, co-star Vampires Los Muertos, Bravo Profile 2001

If you use these for your website, perhaps you could post a link to mine: http://bekibon.tripod.com Obviously you don't have to, but I'd appreciate it.

i think theres some quotes about jon and about the band on www.catnchicks.homestead.com look under the interview section. :)

Sir_Cizzi 07-06-2004 06:24 PM

Here ya go! Taken from this site: http://www.catnchicks.homestead.com/InterviewIndex.html

Nikki Stix " ...I remember being on MTV's Headbanger's Ball saying, 'You have to check out Nirvana.' The next day, they were in, we were old hat. See, there was Poison, Ratt, Warrant, some really b-rated bands. Others like Bon Jovi and Def Leppard wrote really class-A music. We'll see who stands the test of time. If you stagnate, you'll bore the snot out of people" (haha)

Tom Kiefer -singer from Cinderella We've been having a lot of fun on the road with Jon and the boys," "It's great because he lets us whatever we want to do," Keifer said. "Some bands like to stifle their opening acts so that they'll look better by comparison, but Jon isn't concerned about that. He knows how good his band is, and he knows we can hold our own against him."

Dave "Snake" Sabo : Jon Bon Jovi = Childhood friend, shrewd businessman, great songwriter. I learned and learn so much from him, both good and bad. The most driven individual I have ever met

Dave "Snake" Sabo- Skid Row (on Jon's fight with Sebastion Bach) What happened was, it was the 2nd to the last night of the tour, and the BonJovi crew were doing the usual end of the tour antics, dumping milk on us, throwing eggs at us while we were onstage, all of it harmless. So, as this is happening, Sebastian announces to the crowd "Jon BonJovi should come up here and get a Piece of ME", and then we went into the song. He didn't say this maliciously at all. He said it in good fun, because we all thought Jon was behind it all. Well, after our set, I'm walking up the ramp of the arena, and I see Jon walking towards me. I start laughing and say to him "man, you really got us, that was awesome!" And he walks right past me with this scowl on his face headed right towards Baz. So, I stop and turn around, because I have this bad feeling in me, and I see Baz smiling and going to give Jon a high-five and says, "You guys totally got us," then I see Jon throw a punch at Baz and I'm like "What the **** is going on?". So Baz throws a punch back at him then a ton of security jump in and separates the two of them, but as they're heading back to our dressing rooms they're still yelling and screaming at each other and I still don't know why. As it turns out, Jon had nothing to do with any of the end-of-tour- stuff and he thought that Baz called him a pussy on stage, when, in fact, Baz was just introducing Piece of Me! To this day I defend Baz on this because he did nothing wrong and it was a completely ridiculous incident.

Emilio Estevez sums up Jon's appeal: "The thing about Jon is he definitely has star quality - the guy is terminally handsome, he's got great presence, he's got a great voice, and he's very tenacious."

Richie Sambora on Jon : "Jon's a front man, in my opinion he's the best in the business. Still to this day, I'm sitting right next to him and I just go, 'This guy is amazing."

Sebastian Bach on Jon : "Bon Jovi's a faggot and I hate his guts. I don't want to talk about Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi sucks." -, SUGAR Interview, December 17, 1999. (funny thats how I feel about "Baz", lol)
("BAZ" is currently starring as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, umm,.. geez Baz, WhatWouldJesusDo ?)

Ted Nugent - "Jon's a cutie -pie"

Owen Gleiberman, film critic "Most rock stars, if they try to get in to the movie game, they want to do some big star vehicle befitting their majesty, like Tommy or Evita. And Jon, I think, has done it in a different way, with a refreshing modesty, he has taken small parts, character parts, he's more serious about being an actor than most rock stars have been."

Elizabeth Perkins : "There's this duality to him that's really enticing, because he has this enormous charisma coupled with this unbelievable down-to-earth quality that you don't see very often."

Kevin Bacon : "If he goes and does a concert in Giant's Stadium, there's gonna be a sound check and 50,000 people are gonna want to rip his clothes off, it's like 'yeah, I've done that.' But I bet you that there is a certain element of danger going on to a set and working with other actors, a director throwing him something - these kinds of things give him that feeling of butterflies that I think is an important part of the creative process."
