What is the deal with Staiway to heaven?
I played Dry County and its incredible solo to a friend of mine who's into 70's stuff and they dismissed it with a word that i darent use on this message board and then gave me Stairway to heven, as i write, the song is finishing. The solo lacks any puch and it is basically just the same old Zeppelin psychadellic pitch alternater to hide the fact Plant [Robert] cant sing. And that acoustic melody is a copy of greenhalghs and no where near as effective as Wanted dead or alive.
Can anyone tell me what the fuss about that song is? :?: |
I bet no one here is biased.

stairway to heaven is a bit overrated

Listen to the 20 min live version of the song

I think Stairway To Heaven is over-rated too. I like it, but think it is way over-rated. Dry County however is my favourite song.

I voted for Stairway, it's a personal thing tho, there's something about the song that I can't quite explain but from the first time I heard it it has been one of my all time favorites. |
Dry County all the way! :usa

Well Stairway to heavenis a classic song. One of the top guitarists songs of all time. It's almost come to the point where if you're a guitar player, sooner or later you're gonna learn how to play that tune.
as It's not the case for any Jovi song. That's what the big deal is. |

Obviously Dry County will win this poll. It is a good song, but if you ask this on a Led Zep board you'd probably get "Dry what.....?" Heh, lol. One good track, one great track in my opinion, and I'm not really biased because I like Zeppelin about the same as Bon Jovi. |
I doubt Rolf Harris could better Dry County like he did with Stairway.
