Question! (really really need it to be answered)

Ok i've seen the "TLFR" DVD about 20 times and i always thought that in "last man standing" Joon sings: "keep your pseudo punk, hip-hop, j-lo junk, digital downloads" which i think is really cool because it shows what a manufactured thing the singles charts has become when Jenifer Lopez's rear end can go platinum, but in the little booklet provided by Island Def Jam Music Group it switches "j-lo" with "pop-rock". Am i going crazy or does it definatley say "j-lo"?

And am i right in saying Bon Jovi haven't had a UK no.1 single? how can Peter Andre and the cheeky girls do it and Bon Jovi not? They do concerts to about 200,000 Brits every year, surely if everyone who goes to their concerts buys the single they get top spot... right?

Yes, Jon does sing "j-lo junk" on the DVD. It could be that "pop-rock" are the original lyrics that they wrote, and Jon just changed it during the performance. Or maybe it was just to avoid hurting any feelings. Who knows why, but you're not going crazy.

probably more to do with avoiding slander actions from Epic than anything else.

and record sales do not determine the quality of music.

Its the albums that count, singles are a dying breed. and, correct me if im wrong, but bon jovi have had many a U.k no1./2 album.
Established big artists tend not to even bother releasing or promoting singles, they let the album speak for itself as the fanbase will buy it. Tell me the last time Eric Clapton or bob dylan or the rolling stones etc promoted their new single etc yet however when they come to do a tour everydate is still almost a sellout.

Always definetly didnt get to number 1 in the uk charts, i think it was no3 .
Bon jovi have never had a single at number 1 and probably never will.
the only way it might happen is if they make a new album but release a song from it a month or so before the album is released.
I think if they released the title track Bounce as a single, it would have done really well
otherwise everyone buys the album, it gets to number 1 in the album chart, but not every bonjovi fan in the uk is going to but a single that they already have on the album.

Always peaked at Number two in the UK. It was only held off the top spot by Think Twice by Celine Dion.

its a good thing that Bon Jovi dont sell many singles

Everyone knows when you buy a Jovi album you get your moneys worth (an indication as to why they've sold 100,000,000 of them) so why buy a single? Bon Jovi dont need to use the media to sell records (i.e the lip sync show; Top of the pops) they have built such a reputation for themselves, touring until they almost died that enough people know who they are.

And the Bon Jovi single sales of UK and USA are no indication of how many they sell; "Its my life" didnt get in the top ten in the US but stayed on pole position in the European charts for 8 weeks!
