david is needed!!!!

He has a lot of loops etc programmed into his systems.

On Bounce tour 2003, if you listen to the distance you will actually hear orchestral parts to the song, but do you see an orchestra on stage...nope

Its David playing pre-programmed sounds, and he makes the songs as good live as any other member of the band.

There was a debate ages ago wether Richie uses his talkbox on LOAP live or if it is a pre-programmed loop, because on 2 seperate concert videos the sync between the sound and richie using the talkbox is off, wether this is an editing problem or is actually the real thing no-one REALLY knows

That debate was about the badly edited Live From London VHS/DVD. Someone said he found out Richie playbacked the talkbox, and started a fuss about it, just because you hear a talkbox before you see Richie actually touching it with his mouth. Just edited in the wrong way.

You'd notice if he WASN'T there, that's for sure - and not only because your eyes wouldn't be getting visually assaulted by those awful black paisley shirts he wears sometimes (like on the Times Sq. 2002 recording!)
