Slow down babe lol Don't expect me to learn a language overnight
have to kill my boredom somehow :P so i thought of explaining that lol
I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually :)
When I have picked up more we'll have to have audio convos so you can teach me the accent too lol otherwise I'd be crap if I just tried it myself |
i found this online and maybe it explains better than in my crappy english icon_redface.gif
The verbs Ser/Estar (to be) There are two different verbs in portuguese that can be translated to the english To Be. The verb Ser is used to express a permanent characteristic of something. Estar is used for transient forms. This will be better explained with some examples, so here is the present tense of both verbs, plus some sentences using them: Ser (to be) Eu sou Tu és Ele/ela/você é Nós somos Vós sois Eles/elas/vocês são Estar (to be) Eu estou Tu estás Ele/ela/você está Nós estamos Vós estais Eles/elas/vocês estão Examples: Eu sou Português - I am Portuguese (permanent form) Vós sois grandes - You are big (permanent form) O céu está nublado - The sky is cloudy (transient form) Eu estou sentado - I am sitting down (transient form) |
Like I said don't expect me to pick it all up right away, but since it is something I'm interested to do then I will persevere
of course i dont want you to learn everything right now, but the more you read the more it stays in your head :P
Well of that currently I'm just trying to understand the use of them and not the specific words for me/you/he/she etc
Singular:
I - Eu You - Tu He - Ele / She - Ela / It - Aquilo Plural: You - Vós He - Ele / She - Ela / It - Aquilo They - Eles/Elas/Aqueles/Aquelas goodnight :P |
