On that camera the real zoom must be quite good, or?
Big cameras are a bit messy.. :D
Want to sea my underwater housing?? LOL

Thomas Anderson 11-24-2005 12:22 AM

Well the picture I posted showed off the zoom. The left shot was normal, then using the 8x optical zoom and then the digital zoom, which as I said just crops it.

The lens annoys me a bit, usually such a large one would move in and out as you zoom, but this stays out all the time, even when taking close up shots.

eriK 11-24-2005 12:29 AM

It's rather hard to get the size of compact camera combined with functions of a "real" camera such as yours.

Thomas Anderson 11-24-2005 12:32 AM

I only mean that the lens itself sticks out even when not using the zoom. I don't mind having a big camera, one too small would be fiddly since I have big hands.

Anyway, here are some pictures from today...

Rakel 11-24-2005 12:40 AM

that last one is lovely!! and this one (here )hehe

Thomas Anderson 11-24-2005 12:42 AM

There was a load more birds sat there but they moved away as I got closer to get that shot, I crouched down to get that exact angle, though it still isn't exactly how I wanted it because the little pier thingy is at an angle in the water.

Thomas Anderson 11-25-2005 06:51 PM

It was supposed to snow today but didn't. It wasn't quite as cold as it has been and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon with hardly any cloud so after I got home from Uni and had my dinner I went for a walk in the park and took my camera. Usually I only go through to get somewhere, but I just thought I'd go for a walk, aswell as with the intention of taking yet more photos.

Thomas Anderson 11-25-2005 06:52 PM

This next one is perhaps the best stitching of images I've done. It is only 2 but the join is seamless

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama01t.jpg

This one isn't too bad either, again just 2 images, and the water colour doesn't quite match perfectly, but it isn't bad

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama02t.jpg

UKjovi 11-25-2005 06:53 PM

Looks nice there :D

Thomas Anderson 11-25-2005 07:26 PM

Another

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama03t.jpg

This was taken from the very top of the hill, one of the highest points in St Helens

Thomas Anderson 11-25-2005 08:13 PM

This is the biggest yet today, 4 images, it took me ages and still isn't matched up properly, though I am getting better at doing them, messing with perspectives at the edges and matching/replacing colours to blend them together properly

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama04t.jpg

Thomas Anderson 11-25-2005 09:17 PM

This is perhaps the best I've done yet in terms of the actual image, though the blending is nowhere near perfect

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...amaLake03t.jpg

Thomas Anderson 11-26-2005 12:18 AM

They just keep coming lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama05t.jpg

This is my old high school, just up the road from my house, I cut across the field on my way home from the park today

Thomas Anderson 11-26-2005 12:41 AM

I dont think I have many pictures left to do lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama06t.jpg

This is looking over the golf course from the college field

Rakel 11-26-2005 01:49 AM

they're all so pretty!! and about the blending, it might not be perfect but you've been inprooving (sp??) alot! maybe think about it when you're taking the pics and leave (even more) space for blending, wich will cause more pictures but i think its worth it

Thomas Anderson 11-26-2005 02:45 AM

I am getting better at it (improving lol) but I've found it is better to leave less space between them, but due to the perspective I will start taking more in future in the center of the panorama, so I would take it like this

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...d/panorama.gif

So I'd take 2 in the center sections but only 1 at the far sides because the sides tend to get stretched up when I edit them so I end up cropping a lot, but if I take them more like that in future they will be higher and not just very wide lol

Oh, and here is another one of the lake, the blending is awful but the best I could do using the original images

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...anorama07t.jpg

Rakel 11-26-2005 04:28 AM

oow im sure that technique will have awsome results! :) and yeah the blending on that last one is abit... noticable (sp), didnt you have space to delete abit of one of the pics?

Thomas Anderson 11-26-2005 04:31 AM

The problem was that the sunlight came into the far left images, as it was I had to clone up the sky as it was, but the colours were difficult to match up.

UKjovi 11-26-2005 10:57 AM

There really good Neil , you know you could have a career in this :D

Thomas Anderson 11-30-2005 02:35 AM

...and this is probably one of the coolest pics I've taken, to me at least, because I appear to have captured delorean right as it travelled through time :P

UKjovi 11-30-2005 10:23 AM

Clare took this picture this morning
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ng/sunrise.jpg

Thomas Anderson 11-30-2005 03:04 PM

Very nice Russ, the only time I could get a picture of a sunrise is if I had stayed up so late since there is no chance of me getting up that early lol

UKjovi 11-30-2005 03:12 PM

haha well you dont have kids :)

Rakel 12-02-2005 03:42 AM

hellowwwww

Thomas Anderson 12-02-2005 03:45 AM

Owa :) We haven't spammed for ages. This thread has mostly been photo's and discussion of them lol what happened to all the flirting? :p;)

Rakel 12-02-2005 03:47 AM

dunnowww but we're not late to start it again :p

Thomas Anderson 12-02-2005 03:47 AM

Never too late :)

*mwaaah*

Rakel 12-02-2005 04:00 AM

so what can we talk about

Thomas Anderson 12-02-2005 04:07 AM

Badgers? :p lmao

How about a "serious" discussion of some sort? Me and my friends at Uni today were meant to be doing work but we ended up talking, as usual, though we actually discussed governments and politics and war and such, whereas it is usually confined to The Simpsons and new film releases.

We were saying how stupid George Bush is, I know everyone knows, but I mentioned how, on a satirical news quiz I watch they showed a clip of him talking during the election, and he very obviously had a wire and ear-piece, seen in his jacket. At one point he even said something like "Let me finish.." when no-one said anything, which not only shows he was wearing a wire, but he is as much of a fool as people suspect, a mere puppet to whoever really runs the country.

Rakel 12-03-2005 03:42 AM

oops kinda late lol
my problem with serious (or any) conversations is that i cant explain myself well in english.. was talking about this to my teacher today and she said that i know quite enough, but "enough" is not enough for me GRRRR
about bushy..what can i say.. he reminds me one of those persons that when we meet/talk to them we wonder how and why do they have a certain job or social status cause they are (and this is rude but true) less intelligent than a 5 year old kid.. wich is sad

Thomas Anderson 12-03-2005 03:44 AM

Surely even he must know how stupid he is lolal

Rakel 12-03-2005 03:45 AM

speeding up arent we :P

Thomas Anderson 12-03-2005 03:56 AM

Just 3 posts to go :p
