I'll save my money for at least 4 other gigs. I don't know why they choosed such an expensive venue. I mean, the Shepherd's Bush Empire is even smaller than the Borgata and the concert there was at least as exclusive and it only costed roundabout 44 Dollars.

The prices are a ripp-off and the people who pay this don't think about that this could raise the prices for future concerts also. I mean, if Ticketmaster sees that people are willing to pay that much money, it could get them to raise the price for other concerts as well.

I just about believe anything these days.

On the present exchange rate that works out to A$355 per ticket...but then again...The Eagles are touring here in November [Oz] and the 'diamond' tickets are going for A$558 [there are cheaper ones but as these Borgata fc tickets are apparently right up the front, I used the best Eagles tickets as an example] ...and people are buying them like the proverbial....the demand is so great that the band are doing a bunch of extra shows across Australia. If people are willing to pay such high prices, then that's what [unfortunately] promoters etc are going to charge. Oh for the days when it was NOT equal to or more than your weeks take home pay to buy a concert ticket.

Just for information. REM are playing at the Borgata on Saturday and the ticket price is 75 Dollars. So the outragious price of BJ is not because of an expensive venue. It's just money making.

Man..big difference in those prices. Frustrates the stuffing out of me...like I said, I know people pay those stupid prices, so demand=supply and vice versa, but for the life of me, I can not see how a price of US$250 is justified...and especially not in a place the size of Borgata. There will be and are, plenty of people happy to wage a spirited banter about why it costs that much, but A$355 would get me a ticket [I hope] and the return airfare to Melbourne to see BJ.
I never thought anyone would pay those obscenely outrageous prices for The Eagles...but they did...go figure...the world's gone mad.

hahaha who's going there ;) they are crazy!!

rainsong 10-26-2004 09:26 PM

C'mon guys, it's not that crazy a price. It's about the same as last years TLFR show. Think about it , the band is not on tour but they have to pull all their people in from wherever that work on live shows, plus the cost of the tv people, the webcast people, and i believe that it took 3 days last year to set up so you have to pay everyone, feed everyone and house everyone for 3 or 4 days and if you do the math,1500 seats at 265.00 is only roughly 400,000.00 So, I don't think anyone is getting ripped off, I doubt the band themselves are getting a paycheck for this nights work. I think they are covering the costs of putting on this show.

it's NOT a charity event -- why on earth would they go through that trouble only to break even??? It would be non-sensical and one thing Jon is NOT is a poor business man.
