A Tribute To Us All At Dry County

It's time I say something about this place....

Everyone here at Dry County has truly added a dimension to life as a Bon Jovi fan that had not existed before 1995. It's a special place that I guarantee pretty much every one of us would not want to see end. We all have definitive presence while being hard core Bon Jovi fans. We are the serious, discerning fans. This is where the guys go to meet other Bon Jovi fans. This is where the girls go for higher level discussion. We're recognized by the band themselves.

In 1995 when I first really got my hands on the internet (though had been a Prodigy user since 1992..similar to AOL, except at the time, no World Wide Web. It did have message boards, but I never went to the Bon Jovi one there, just KISS.) Anyway..one of the first things I did was browse and see what Bon Jovi sites there were. Their were quite a few..though Bon Jovi's own site at the time, was very whatever..In fact..I can't remember it at all. Though I do remember Jon had one specifically for Destination Anywhere.

Anyway...so searching the internet for a site that took Bon Jovi seriously and recognized them where the general public and media may not......I quickly found PeterWeb's Dry County. A simple glance at it said it all that I arrived at the right place. At the time..it was part of a larger website featuring other themed pages by Peter. But he had me hooked ever since and it became part of my daily routine of surfing. The level of serious professionalism in the approach of the site was like...."holy sh**..there really are other people who get 'em."

The site of course, kept getting bigger and bigger over the years...eventually seeing the arrival of the message board..the crowning of the site that made it come alive cuz all of us surfing it were finally able to interact with each other.

I don't want to go on and on and hold a mirror to it all for you to recount your experiences here. Just stop and reflect sometimes. Because...... try to imagine not having JoviTalk/Dry County. I got love for you all...even when I hassle you. I know I'm not really the most social on the board..pretty much stick with the main topic. So this was my moment to let that out for a change. I've just exposed myself...lord have mercy.

Peter Oberc started something very special and I wanted him to know I have the utmost respect for him and to thank him for all of the work he put into making Dry County what it is. He made an impact on the Bon Jovi Experience that will stay with us.

wtf is wrong with me? In 1995, or whenever I first started using the internet (which was at the computer lab in college), I researched the websites of potential employers, did research for term-papers (none having to do with music whatsoever), and for the life of me cannot think of any other use.... I feel soooo out of place now....

Man, all the stuff I could say here..... but I stick with the fact that you are truly getting old and soft...

Seriously though, nice piece and very sweet of you! I think we all share your sentiment.

Yeah, I can't believe I waited all these years to have a look at the notice board :( I used to surf this site on an 486dx when Midi's were still cool and if you'd had an inappropriate thought about Britney or Christina they would have locked you up.

May the church of rock and roll bless us, everyone

Yes dear we are recognised by the band / BSWJBJ and BJ.com as always putting the band down, they dont seem to see our opinions as constructive criticism, wonder why !!!!! Some of you can just be to cruel

what a nice thread!
that is until Seb or krb come and inject some controversey

i like this guy, you should have read his review on Def Leppards history over on the otherbands forum, he knows his stuff. and he also handles a discussion very well and doesnt resort to the crap that some people here do (you know who u r!)

this was the first BJ site i ever used, coz the official one took too long to load up on my old modem back in the day. and this msg bord was far easier to work out 8)
