Agressive dogs...

... like pitt bulls or Rottweilers. In my country there is no law preventing people from having those dogs as pets, there's no law against dog-fights either (as far as i'm concerned, and if there is no one aplyes it) and latelly there's alot of children attacks by those dogs, sending them to the hospital with major injuries or killing them. There was a recent attack to a 14 year old kid that probably won't walk again so the dog is going to be shot down. IMO there should be a law proibiting those animals as pets. I'm sure there are people that know how to deal with them, but there's also people who like to play 'the bad boys' and use them in personal attacks or simply let them on the the streets without caring if they're going to attack anyone. Does anyone have any of those 'agressive-type' dogs and would like to explain what is so fun about having a killer dog?

In Spain there supposedly are regulations for these dogs. They came into force after several attacks like the one you mentioned. But what's the use? You can still see the owners walking them as if nothing happened. Few of them have shortened their leases. And if a child passes by and looks scared, the owner will just laugh at it.

But I do have to say though, it's not the dogs, at least not largely, but the owners who are at fault for these things.

I personnaly think they should stop breeding these designer killer dogs as they are nothing but a menice . i know of a donkey that had her mouth rippped apart by one of these dogs , but as the law stands a donkey is a farm animal so the dog was let free!!! but whats to say that dog does know the difference between a donkey and a child???? whose going to put 67 stickes to a childs face like thay did a donkey???? those in charge should wake up before its too late.

I truly believe it's less about the breed than it is about the handling and environment the dog is brought up in.

Yeah me too and somepoeple just have dog to show up and they do nothing other then that. There should be strict rule about adopting a dog and whether that person can handle and take care of it the way it should be and all.
And dog fighting is just cruel cruel thing :(

NO !!! that sort of dog is a wild animal and should be treated so . They are only breed with one intention in mind

Some breeds are more aggressive than others, but that doesn't mean a well-handled dog of an "aggressive" breed can't be just as gentle as a basset hound or that a "gentle" breed dog can't turn on a person and bite their hand off either.

I have to say that it is not the dog or breed that makes them mean or aggressive. It is the people who choose to raise them that way. I've done research on this before for school. There is no thing as an aggresive gene, so dogs are not born aggressive. They are instead taught to be that way. There has also been no evidence that certain breeds are naturally more aggressive than others. Dogs like the Dachshund, Lhsa apso, and yorkshire terrier have attacked humans and have even caused death. Even a nice friendly dog of any breed can turn on someone if it has been abused or neglected. I have known several people with pit bulls and rottweilers. We used to own a pit bull, but had to get rid of him because we didn't have the time to take care of him. Every one of the dogs were friendly, family pets and even had children living with them. These dogs have been put in a stereotype and they can't speak to defend themselves. It is sad because pit bulls are the most euthanized dogs, mainly because of poor human judgement and responsibility. Dogs that have been rescued from these types of situations where they are raised to fight have to be euthanized because they are a dangerous risk. You never know what can trigger them and make them attack. They probably never knew a good happy life, and don't get the chance to have one. Very sad indeed.
