American fraternities

they are most amusing, a bunch of losers so desperate to be accepted by someone that they allow themselves to be arse raped and humiliated just so they can get a jumper with a few greek letters on... what the fook!?

spunkywho 12-18-2004 04:55 AM

what? no good?

unless you join one of the geek fraternities they only accept you if you have a certain grade point average and hours upon hours of community service.......... either way they bbbbbbbbbblow!

unless you actually want a job.

Mongoose 12-18-2004 05:05 AM

eh?

I want to know what the bloody hell they, what they do, and why a bunch of fags are so keen to let themselves be sodomised to join one!

spunkywho 12-18-2004 05:24 AM

poor self-esteem?

look whatever you saw on 20/20 or your british version thereof is not necessarily how the majority of fraternities work.

the greek lettered fraternity I belonged to was all about academic excellence  and pretty much guaranteed me the job I always wanted..... but I didn't get raped or sodomized to get in either.

so bottom line - i have no clue and am of no help at all ...

the number of horror stories you hear about those places is unbelievable. there's a group in the states trying to get them banned; blaming the deaths of numerous teenagers on them.

I was in a sorority, and let me tell you that I was not arse raped or anything else. :0 I just did it because of the community service, and the fact that it looks good on a resume. Not all of them are like the ones you see on television. Of course they don't show you the ones that actually do some good, because that wouldn't make good TV.

I suppose it depends on your own point of view, but it's pretty sad that good television would be classed as drunken teenagers doing stupid things rather than sober teenagers doing good in the community.

Yup, blame the people that tune in and watch it, therefore making the ratings go up and feeding the monster. :D

I would suppose you missed the slightly sarcastic touch of Brooke's post.
