What is it that You all WANT/EXPECT from Jon???
 

I know this is a loaded question, May possibly start a fight here and there, but I am curious. Let me explain why and what I am driving at.

everywhere I go on this Board, I see comments. Not nice comments at all about yes, you guessed it. Jon Bon Jovi.

I would like to know a few things here and maybe it will help me better understand what your motives are, especially those of you who do nothing more but take pleasure in riling up a bunch of us here. You know who you are.

You take cheap shots at Jon, and I am curious to know what exactly drives you. what is it about Jon that makes you dislike him so very much? Or better yet, WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT FROM HIM??? WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT HIM TO SAY? WHAT TO WEAR? WHAT TOO SING ABOUT? WHAT TO COMMENT ON? WHAT NOT TO COMMENT ON? WHAT TO SING AND WHAT NOT SING? HOW TO SING IT? I am just very curious .......it blows my mind honestly how much DISLIKE for this man there is on this board. I just can't understand it.

OH AND LET'S MAKE THIS CLEAR BEFORE SOMEONE TAKES A SHOT AT ME......I am not a defender of all he does, says or even wears. I listen to the band for THE MUSIC. I don't just stare at leather pants, and I AM CERTAINELY NOT a blind follower. I do however, in no way shape or form, understand how SOME of you here, genuinely HATE him. what has he done to you to make you hate him SO much? You can't tell me it's because he is complacent about his music, I don't buy that. You can't tell me it's because he hates his fans. That's a load of Crap. You can't tell me it's because you want to, that doesn't fly. Now is your time to share and enlighten us , those who you say are blind followers. TELL ME, WHY DO YOU DISLIKE JON BON JOVI SO VERY MUCH????? I TRLUY WANT TO KNOW. MAKE ME UNDERSTAND AND SEE IT YOUR WAY.

I don't dislike Jon Bon Jovi at all. He's one of my idols. For anything I have ever criticized him on it's due to being convinced he can do better per the bar he set himself and with the band in the past, not my own expectations.

Ok that makes perfect sense then, You want/expect him to do as well as they did in the 80's in the sense of keeping up with the way it always was, being a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Understood.

First, you need to just accept I know my sh** when it comes to Bon Jovi. So condescending to me will only result in coming off as desperate. You already have one strike with attempting to pin attachment to the 80s and being out of touch with reality on me.

Second..I'm not going over his voice with you again, you've made up your mind that he is doing his absolute best and his voice has simply eroded, which means he never had that great of a voice to begin with if at his relative young age he can't keep up with his older peers.

Third...there is more than just his voice that is at issue. The "bar" and "past" I'm referring to is the one he set before leaving the public eye in 1997 before returning in 2000. I don't get locked into a period. I'm a loyal fan of long running bands who expects to see those bands continue to let their creative juices flow while employing their years of experience which should only feed the quality of their work. I do not use my bands as my personal nostalgia kick to pretend I'm back in high school by demanding they be as they were then. So with that mind....yeah..I'm less than thrilled with their direction since 2000 as they did exactly that...dumbed down back to 1986 with a modern twist. After These Days and Destination Anywhere..that wasn't going to fly as honest creative work.

Im critical of Jon in a reasonable sense and I'm also quite capable of pointing out where he delivers as opposed to being obsessed with what is wrong with him or the band. So don't try to peg me as one who does the latter.

I never ever thought for a second that you didn't know you sh*t when it comes to Bon Jovi, where does this come from?? I never ever ONCE critisized you in any way shape or form here!!! Matter of fact, your one of the few people I actually like Around here! Your way off base Purist, way off base. I was not condescending, I was simply asking if the voice issue was what you were refering to. It had nothing to do with being nasty or self righteous here! Nor do I get Locked into a period. The way you phrased it, I truly thought you were refering to a better "time" when the band was more on top of things as SOME refer to it around here.

And just for future reference, I enjoy the old Bon Jovi as much as the new. Do I think some of the songs are crap? Yes. But I do like some of them as well.

Once again I am in agreeance with you, I love These days, Matter of fact, it happens to be my favorite Bon Jovi album. Destination Anywhere is Brilliant IMO as well. It's on constant repeat in my Stereo.

I pretty much agree with Purist, I'd like to see Jon try sometime. I don't dislike him at all, but I've seen Gene Simmons do the same to his band. I want to see some dedication.

Thus the problem with being behind a computer screen. Words are wrods, but you can't see How people are meanng to phrase things. Alot fo things get taken out of context thanks to a Pc. Your not actually having a face-to-face conversation, so you can't see people's expressions or manuerisums. That truly screws up alot of people who would have gotten along quite well otherwise.
