3 days till I see Keith Urban. How jealous is Becky on a scale of 1-10? :D
|
9.9
He played You (or Somebody Like You) at a gig in Cologne Germany... of course I've got it downloaded on my computer so I can listen to it... but it's likely that he'll play it at those UK dates too. There's a KILLER guitar solo in that one. This is not to be confused with Somebody Like You. YOSLY is a song written by Gordie Samson that he loved and recorded despite the similarity in the title to the song he wrote and had a huge hit with. But you probably won't hear Homespun Love which is a shame--very country, but very cool. However, if he plays Nobody Drinks Alone I will be hitting the jealousy scale at a 16.8 on a scale of 1-10. I just counted up the days and I see Keith again in 29 and 30 days. :D Have fun!! Becky |

I saw this video on Yahoo :D I loved it !! And this song is just great !! |
....sorry becky, so which song should I look out for again? All these song titles are driving me crazy. I think I will be lucky if I know one song when I see him :?

Do you want me to send you some files? If so, give me a yahoo address or some other account that will hold big ones.
This is the track list of the new UK release called Days Go By. It's basically a "best of Golden Road and Be Here" on one CD. I'd expect the set list to be much like this. Days Go By Somebody Like You Raining on Sunday You're My Better Half You'll Think of Me You Won Making Memories of Us You (or Somebody Like You) Nobody Drinks Alone She's Gotta Be Tonight I Wanna Cry You're Not Alone Tonight Better Life Live to Love Another Day These Are the Days http://www.keithurban.net/country_se...ional/main.php Becky |
Well I have the album Be Here. I couldnt get into it though Becky

Try listening to it and skipping The Hard Way, Making Memories of Us, She's Gotta Be, and Country Comfort. The Hard Way and Making Memories are just too slow. She's Gotta Be is a different song live, so I can't even listen to it on CD much. And Country Comfort--not even sure why that's on there. He's got demos of songs HE'S written that are a thousand times better.
I don't know if Keith takes suggestions from fans seriously or what, but he used to play THW and MMOU back to back in concert and I really thought it was buzzkill to go from the energetic opening to that. While talking to Jerry (the bassist), I shared what I loved about the show and then said, "But I want to be a little critical," and told him I thought that those two songs paired during that acoustic-based portion of the show was "buzzkill" when "You'll Think of Me" (another slow song) is just around the corner. Jerry said he thought I made a really good point and he agreed with me and he was going to tell Keith what I said. They haven't played The Hard Way since. Now I don't know if that's coincidence or if Keith listens to his fans, but the timing is one of thoe things that makes you go, "Hmmmmm." If it's a matter of listening to constructive criticism from fans, I wish Bon Jovi would take a lesson from Keith. Taking out that song removed this lull in the set and the shows I've seen since have been stronger for it. Becky |
So you're suggesting to skip what I guess is half the album?
|
No, there are 14 songs. I suggest skipping two ballads, one mid-tempo cover, and a rock song that's a good song, just much better live. The only reason I skip She's Gotta Be is that listening to it makes me miss all the extra guitar parts in the live version, so I'd rather listen to it on a bootleg CD.
