Jon and his "wisdom" - Part 4.

Aloha !

After reading the new letter from Jon that came with the Backstage magazine (no I'm not a member but read it online so again I saved a lot of money) I couldn't help but finding Jon a stupid dork again.

Quote:

As one executive said to me a year ago when I accused him of protecting his bonus and selling his lost soul in the name of commerce, he replied, “It’s always been about commerce Jon.” I hung my head and cursed them to a future of J-Lo and Britney. Fortunately the ghost of Elvis wasn’t listening to me and gave us all something to hang hope on.
And mr. Jon Bon Jovi is the one who should know it's always been about commerce. He's the biggest commercial rock star on this planet. And why does he bring Elvis up again? It's getting boring, that obsession. Also, Elvis was a pop star as well. Face it.

But the thing that bothers me is that instead of taking a producer that produces rock albums, he takes:
Quote:

John Shanks who is a really hot producer right now.
If Jon Bon Jovi would really take the music business that serious he would not take a producer who is really hot right now. It's just the same as pop artists are doing. He's hot, so he hires him and wants to make sure he makes a lot of money with the new album. Last Man Standing would've been honest if Bon Jovi would not have made Crush and Bounce, but now it just sounds silly. A guy that tries to rewrite IML (Richie did even admit this) because it was a big hit, is complaining about the music industry. Jon Bon Jovi is a big hypocrite.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Oh man. I used to think you were just a troll. But you really are serious, aren't you?

Jebus Tap-Dancing Christ on a Bike dude, get a hobby!

They tried the same with You Give Love A Bad Name. Even Jon himself admitted this. Why don't you whine about this? Where have you been back then? Sh1tting your diapers.

I told you all I just don't care for that whole line for a multitude of reasons. I know his attempted point...but it could have been done better without the hypocrisy.

Instead of putting all your efforts into trying to put me down for my comments you just could for once try to discuss the things I mention.

A discussion of any kind with someone like you is fundamentally impossible.

Oh, what did I do?? Help. I mentioned something where Jon himself admitted he tried to copy a song. Oh my God, Jon himself! And he even admitted it...

I am sorry that you are out of arguments on this. Life goes on.
But don't tell me _I_ didn't discuss what you mentioned, because _I_ did.

The producer thing. OK let me get this straight- you hated the last two records which were co-produced by a young up and coming producer, but now you're mad because a successful band is going with a successful producer??? The "hot" comment = successful which at the moment Mr. Shanks certainly is. By the way Mr Shanks is a musician turned producer he's played and worked with a variety of genres including Ozzy, Alainis Morissette, Melissa Etheridge and yes Keith Urban. He's produced some pretty damn good records in recent years so why not work with him? And these so called rock record producers- where are they? They must not be working much or they have switched genres because I can count on one hand the number of good rock records that have been produced in the last few years.
The commercial rock star thing- I have never seen nor heard Jon say he wasn't a commercial artist, I think what he was accusing the exec of was substituting the love of a dollar for real musicians you remember them bands and artists that wrote recorded and actually played their own music.
The Elvis thing. You say JBJ is obsessed. Well, I say you are obsessed with JBJ and ripping apart eveything he says, does, wears, writes, records and releases. Please, get anither hobby because your obsession is getting old and tired. Critisism is fine, but c'mon you've taken a bunch of sentences, pulled them out of context, used you're own "creative" spin as to what they mean and slagged Jon off for it all. If you really hate the guy so much then stop following everything he does-- it's easy change the channel.
