Jon's Big Idea Interview
So I watched it last night and jon was on through 3 commercial breaks, and let me tell you one thing for sure: Jon is definitly going to enter the ring of politics. His reserved and pseudo-contemplative style told anyone watching that this was the only avenue for him. The brevity and repetition of his answers was completely scripted (like a politician).
He talked of touring and music as a 'been there done that' endeavor, and that actors and people like 'Tom Hanks' should be president of the USA. 'It's not the most far-fetched idea' he kept repeating (what an astute politic response) as the host continued to bombard him with the ludicrous reality he was proposing. He passed on his good will for Arnold and said that he would 'vote for him [for president] in a second.' He stated also, 'what diplomat of the world wouldn't be swayed by this man when they walked into the room with him.' He said America is at its most narrow-minded point in history and sited the gay marriage issue. He bombarded the audience with what a great entrepreneur he was and all of the humanitarian endeavors he has undertaken. And he said all of this with only a few rehearsed sentences that he would repeat and reword for the entire interview. Oh, and he loves his wife. And women rule the world. And where would we be without them? ;) I am being a bit synical and comedic here and Jon was sick, but it was a pretty bleak (or just boring) half hour of television. B |
He'd vote for Arnold? :? Now that is probably the stupidest statement he's ever made. (Shut up Seb)
So much for him rediscovering his passion for music at any time soon. |
Aloha !

I'm recording this right now for a friend and Jon talked about NOT going into politics because it's a game and you can be more effective by doing something in the community without playing that game.

His whole interview was canned, pure and simple. There can be no debate about that. And when the host tried to ask even goofy minutia of Jon in the final segment, Jon was withdrawn and pretty quiet. And they were just silly questions. He was either deathly deathly deathly sick, or posturing. You can be the judge yourself. Personally, he reminded me of a cleaner, more political version of a Jonny Depp interview, and that is sad (I wonder if he will move to France...). Or maybe it is the pale face work that has been done. I think it is great that he does all of this humanitarian stuff--raising money and what-not, but if he's doing just to get into office, it becomes an annoyance. I wouldn't vote for Jon (or any other actor) unless it was between him or Gray Davis and I don't really care if he does enter politics so long as he sends off his band with a bang and not a whimper. Lastly, I was speaking more about the meaning and aura of the entire interview than just one quote. With that being said, it was a political talk show and I already KNOW I am blowing out of proportion (it is just a banal interview in a sea of profoundly banal inerviews), but that is the foundation of SATIRICAL criticism. Humor people! Laugh a little! It'll do ya good! It was just a damn interview! I will forget it by next week, and I hope you do too. B |

Thank you Beavoid for your vision about this show I was on backstage and wasn't sure about what to think about it the perception there is that it was a pure jewel interview the best ever or something like that ...(I haven't nor read a transcript neither see the show )
I just saw few sreenshots and under one of them was written JON BON JOVI Philadelpphia Soul Owner ... It was maybe not the only one mention of who is JBJ but sorry it's NOT who he is for me ... it sounds like the show was not targetting music fans It was about Jon Bon Jovi the business guy |
