Downloaded Shakira's MTV Unplugged album last night, it is amazing.

If you are not much of a Springsteen fan - or are not that familiar with his music - go for The River. Though I tell everyone that his live albums sound much better than the older albums - and they contain most of the same tracks.

Live 1975 to 1985 is a 3 CD set and
Live in New York City is a 2 CD set

Both are superior soundwise.

I have the same question as Chica. Except recommend me any of his albums, I only have two :( Greatest Hits and Magic.

The two live albums that I recommended above contain almost all of his best songs with really great live sound.

Some of the albums are great but they sound dated due to the lack of good sound quality. Born to Run is the absolute best album - don't be put off by the asshole that posted here under that name. After Born to Run there is The River and then Born in the USA in terms of favorites. You could probably get used copies of any of these pretty cheap.

If any of those please you - you can then start getting into his acoustic stuff which oddly enough is much heavier in terms of writing and seriousness.

I need another CD shelf...
  • Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
  • The Kooks - Konk
  • MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
  • Razorlight - Razorlight
  • Sigur Rós - með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
  • Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
  • The Wombats - A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation
And a few Muse bootlegs...mmh

Oli - I bought a new copy of Born to Run earlier this year for about $9. Money well spent. It's probably my favourite Bruce album so far but I think I'm only about a third of the way through his discography.

Thanks Kathleen- ordered The River off Amazon and will check the local record shops for the live stuff. It's an ambition of mine to see The Boss in concert:D Born To Run was one of the first albums I ever loved.

Ah, haven't listened to The Kooks yet (hrr...shouldn't buy so much at once lol).

And yes, it's Sigur Rós' latest album (rel: 20 Jun 2008 - that's what last.fm says :) )
My favorite track is Gobbledigook I think... After listening through it just once that is. :D

As Kathleen said go for Born To Run or Born in The U.S.A , you wont be disappointed with either of those. Greeting From Asbury Park N.J is also great
