What are your thoughts on it? I'm not sure so far, it sounds too much like a collection of b-sides from the self titled album ....

It's different for sure. I don't know the b-sides from the PJ album, but it is nothing like the A-sides. PJ did grab me at first listen and never let go. Backspacer did not.

That's ok though, there are many songs/albums actually I never got into until years later (Rearviewmirror for example). I've listened to it several times now and have definitely some favorites: Unthought Known, The End, and, of course, Just Breathe. Curious, cause I don't usually prefer any of the slower songs of PJ.

I got the CD on Saturday and saw them live the following Tuesday and can assure you the songs are great live. I loved them more performed live than the couple of times I listened to the album.

"Darkness on The Edge of Town"- Bruce Springsteen
I needed a new copy to replace my very old burn CD, and I couldn't wait for the 30th Box Set anymore.

I agree on that one. Backspacer seems to be lacking emotion. Not sure whether it's the emotion in the songs, or the emotion they fail to get outta me while listening to it. Pity.

Ive read a few reviews on this and so far most seem to be split 50/50. Some are saying its great with loads of emotion behind it and others like yourself arent so keen. Ive listened to some songs on youtub and liked them so far. Just got to buy the album.
