Pixie Lott - Turn It Up

My mam bought me the album to cheer me up as I was depressed about missing out on seeing Cheryl Cole at my school as I was ill.

To be fair, I love Pixie as she is unbeleivably beautiful, but the girl has made a fun pop album which is now a guilty pleasure, so you can all shut up. :)

JerseyboyUK 12-08-2009 03:54 AM

My better half has the album on all the time in her car.
It does have some catchy tunes, but it is also probably the most blatent use of auto-tune (for cover-ups, not effects a la Kanye West) that i've ever heard. Truely shocking, if you're gonna use auto-tune to hide the fact that you can't actually sing, try not to make it so bloody obvious!!

I remember flicking through the channels over the summer and catching her 'performance' at V Festival. My God, she was dreadful.

But yes, quite gorgeous.

She's not one of my serious artists who I'm gonna listen to everyday/buy tickets to go and see etc. so it's fine. :)

Man I'd be depressed about missing out seeing cheryl cole but as you said pixie lott is beautiful and she has a few catchy pop songs! Hadn't noticed the auto tune but as I won't see her live I doubt it doesn't really bother me.

I last bought my mum beyoncés latest album, I only really listened to the hits as I ripped it to the pc but as I've said before, that girl can sing!

Ministry Of Sounds: Anthems; Electric 80's - I'm really enjoying working my way through the compilation, there are some great songs on it. I really got into this sort of music the other month when i saw OMD support simple minds, 'Enola Gay' compeletely blew me away. It was just a fantastic performance, and because of that i becamse more interested in the 80's electric genre and im having fun discovering more great music.

Gotta agree there too. I wish I liked it as everybody anywhere else raves about it. But the best thing is the cover concept with the fans. The "Fan chorusses" in almost every song are annoying. Maby I give it a few more spins b4 I give up on it. Another overproduced album if you ask me.

I've had these for years - love 'em. I always wondered why Fresno was chosen for the live recording though. Talk about the middle of agricultural nowhere in California.
