Coldplay - Speed of Sound
 

Anyone heard it yet?? I'm really impressed with it....and I wouldnt call myself a Coldplay fan.

Judging by the few songs iv heard from Oasis's new album (except Lyla), I fear Coldplays CD is gonna totally outclass Dont believe the truth :? (and I never thought id say that)

Thanks Carli!! Not a bad little tune!! I have to admit that I became a fan when they released their last album. I didn't want to....but I was sucked in.

I've heard the song. I'm no Coldplay fan, but I kinda liked that new song. It's probably because my radio isn't playing it every two seconds... yet.

I downloaded it yesterday afternoon. It pretty much sucks. But then Im not a coldplay fan, but thought I would see what the new track is like. I was impressed in all honesty. :?

i think the problem is, is that rush of blood was so unbelievably amazing compared to what folk expected after parachutes that it made a massive wave and although this is a decent tune (albeit a clocks knock off) i don't think anything they'll do will ever eclipse when in my place and the scientist came out.

i'll still put money on the record being much better than oasis'

But there are a few i really like.

I really like the new song. I have a good feeling the new album is going to be great. Really looking forward to seeing them again this year.

Man i hope next album will be as good as rush of blood... which was really amazing... In my place is my fav song.

No matter how many times I give Coldplay a listen, I just can't get into them.

I was really doubtful about 2 years ago with Coldplay... I've grown to love them and I love their new song... Kinda reminds me of Clocks!

I find Coldplay so depressing. I'm not a fan at all and don't really like Chris Martin's voice. The only track I like by them is Clocks for the killer keyboard riff.

They might make me sleepy, but I don't find anything depressing in their lyrics or music (if music itself can ever be depressing).

Yeaht he only really downbeat thing they've done was trouble on parachutesn cause it was played to death everyone think's they're a new radiohead 9who aren't really depressing either.

it's such a lazy term to use IMO.

I'm in mallia when they play here but if they roll by near any of you, go and see them they are unbelievable live. amazing energy.

Very very true. Saw them in the Parachutes days, they were fab. So when I see them later on this year, with two more albums worth of material, it should be brilliant.

they're much better now, they've just grown, their performance is even better and they don't need to drag the sets out now 8)

I was gonna ask if anyone had seen them live - theres still tickets left for Bolton, I wouldnt mind going just so long as you dont get 2 hours of slow songs.

go and see them. definetely one of the top 10 bands playing out at the moment n i've seen alot of big bands.

I have a bootleg I an copy for you Carli. Its the liverpool show from 1999. I havent listend to it myself so I cant comment on it to be honest.

I've got tickets for the first night at Bolton. I believe Elbow and Morning Runner are supporting. Second night, it's Morning Runner and Doves. From what I remember a few years ago, it was one of those shows where the one and only disappointment was when the show ended. Defiantly worth getting tickets if you can.

Maybe depressing is the wrong word, but I don't like Chris Martin's slow drawning voice and the very down tempo music that they seem to have in they're songs. It's hardly gripping. Like I said, the only song that really stood out for me was Clocks.

Well I listened to the new single and am quite disappointed.

Everyone will compare the new album to the previous one, which was just brilliant. I don't think they will ever be able to top that one, just like REM never topped the brilliance of "Automatic for the People".
