Twisted Sister and Alice Cooper last night

It was in the Brighton Centre, which is awesomely tiny, we can't have ever been more than about 10 metres from the stage, which was great!

Twisted Sister first: mighty. That's the best word I can think of to describe it. I only actually know 3 of their songs, but it really didn't matter. While Dee Snider may have looked like a drag Queen, he is every inch the rock n' roll frontman, fantastic voice, amazing stage presence, and even a funny guy!

Alice Cooper: fantastically entertaining. Any guy who mutilates a woman onstage, before singing a song while bound in a straitjacket, getting beheaded, and getting ressurected as a Frankenstein's monster has to be entertaining. And the songs were great as well, he may be looking a bit old, but he's still got the voice and the moves.

All in all a fantastic show!

Jethro Tull.

They gave out a live cd for every ticketholder which I think was great - who does that stuff???? The cds were supposed to be given out upon entrance, but weren't. When Ian whateverhislastnameis found out that they weren't handed out, he had a fit on stage and demanded somebody from management to come on to the stage to let him know what happened. Some dude walked out and they had a little talk and the cds were handed out during the break.

All in all, a great band --- even my son enjoyed it and he didn't know a song. He thinks the singer was a bit crazy, lol, which is hilarious given the bands he had seen so far...

Unfortunately, there was this woman behind me that had a fit when I used my phone to text message somebody - the light of my cell in my lap, hunched over, bothered her....... sigh.... I told her that this wasn't the symphony and she gave me a dirty look. :(

Jethro Tull did an hour of acoustic, then there was a break and they came back doing another hour plugged in. They performed all of Aqualung and then some.

I saw Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson) a million years ago and it was one of the worst concerts I had ever seen. Perhaps they have improved their live act. It's nice that your son gets to go with you - get 'em while they're young :D

Funny cause I think their current bass player was not born at the time they released their first album, they truly are ancient.

There were no fancy light effects and nobody flew through the air, but it was still a good set. Different from the shows I usually watch and that flute thing is wicked, though I used to enjoy JT a bit differently ;)

Yes, I try my best in starting him young. Not only with concerts, but also musicals and I can't wait to take him to his first opera :p

he did the drums for about a year, but he isn't playing anything right now. He is talking about learning the guitar, but I think he still a bit young for the guitar. He did ask about singing lessons *rolls eyes* - no idea where that came from..... lol.
