jesse malin last week.
ive never seen him live before but the show was well awesome! he opened with hotel columbia which made me love him even more, and came out into the crowd and sat down in the middle of us all while he covered 'helpless' :D he covered the clash's death or glory, i think he said that theyve never played that before but im probably mistaken. i wouldve thought he wouldve been a lot more down to earth but he wasnt that pleasant to the tech running after him, and didnt even smile when he was signing stuff. thats the trouble with meeting heroes- sometimes if you catch them on an off day all u remember is them being a complete dick. im still in awe of the guy but probably dont want his babies anymore. |
Tragically Hip last Friday night. Gord Downie is unlike any frontman I have ever seen! He was unreal - dancing around, playing with the mic stand. He actually bent his mic stand at one point, took it apart and gave a piece of it to a fan sitting in the front row. Most people are happy to get a guitar pick or a setlist...this guy gets half of a mic stand :D
My only real complaint about the show was that they didn't play Bobcaygeon - my favourite Hip song. My roommates are going to see them again tonight and have strict orders to call me when the Hip play that song LOL |
RHCP. Was a good show but they didn't play a bunch of my favorite songs, including BSSM (which to me is their ITA).

maybe he just had a bad day :( I'd hate to think he now has become one of 'them'.... *sobs* |
Saw Wolfmother last night in Nottingham. Rock City was packed... which is good. But somehow I found myself pushed right to the front, centre, crush against the barrier. Usually this would be ace, but I wasn't feeling very well to start off with. Hey ho, I'll stop complaining. They were brilliant.

Saw Barenaked Ladies tonight in TO. Awesome show!!!! Then I rushed back to Peterborough and managed to catch the final few songs of the Spades (a local band). Good night for live music!!!

Saw BNL in Toronto last night with Miracle. Fantastic show, as always.

Awesome you guys. Matt - I want to hear a comparison between seeing them in Toronto and the concert we saw in New York. I would expect the Toronto concert to be far better - if for enthusiasm only LOL.

One Week The Old Apartment Sound of Your Voice Hello City In the Car Get in Line Too Little Too Late Lovers in a Dangerous Time Falling for the First Time Bank Job Acoustic set: -Love is a Battlefield (partial ad-lib) -Everything Had Changed -Enid -For You Wind it Up Angry People Pinch Me Maybe You're Right Alternative Girlfriend It's All Been Done Brian Wilson Encore 1: Easy If I Had $1000000 Encore 2: Call and Answer was the setlist we got. Pretty different from the NYC show. I certainly made up for messing up some lyrics in front of Steve at the last show. A big chunk of my section (15th row) sat down for Maybe you're right (which I found really insulting, it's a beautiful song) and the angle put me in direct eye contact with Steve for it and I sang every word. It was a great show, I'm totally addicted to them again. |
The Killers Sheffield Arena 16/2/07
Its official The Killers are a F-ing FANTASTIC live band. First time seeing them at a big venue, they played for longer too. And I finally heard Why Do I keep counting :D Was their opening night too. Roll On Cardiff in two weeks!!! Carli Yeh I have to agree. They were boss like. Really enjoyed seeing them in a bigger venue. The crowd went nuts for Mr Brightside and When you were young. Aweome intro with a 'video screen' showing footage of Las Vegas. Once 'Sams Town' appeared on the screen, the curtain dropped and confetti exploded onto the crowd. Never seen anything like it before. Wish I was going to Cardiff with Carliteta but, we dont all have £6 million ****in quid in the bank. Kev |
