Great Terri - I love the January shows at BB Kings. It's after Christmas and I can relax since my mother has gone home, and I can enjoy the rest of the winter and the snow here without feeling guilty.

I've seen Southside with the big band and most of the Jukes with JBJ at the fan club show, but I want to see the package deal! I saw John Mellencamp last night, and he was terrific. He's touring with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, so he only has a little more than an hour. He's doing a really well thought out set -- some old songs (and not all hits either, and he's actually dropped the big hit Jack & Diane and the world hasn't come to an end ), some songs from his last album, a song he's just recorded for his next album, and even a few songs in the middle with just John and his acoustic guitar. I absolutely loved it, and I'm really hoping he won't skip the South on his next solo tour like he did last year.

What was Dylan like?

Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy. FOB were amazing live. I was expecting to like them, but they blew me away. Patrick Stump has an amazing vocal range. Blink were nothing spectacular, but they were much better than the last time I saw them with No Doubt in '04. Ironically, I've seen them twice with no desire each time.

I lasted 3 songs before I left. And don't ask me what songs they were, because I have absolutely no clue.:lol: At that point, I hadn't understood one single word. I decided even if he did a song I knew I wouldn't recognize it! I had enjoyed Mellencamp's set so much, and I was NOT enjoying Dylan, so I figured why ruin the experience.

Can't believe you walked out on the greatest songwriter of all time :( I know he's not particularly good live but come on, he's getting on a bit and it's Dylan!

I'm sure I've mentioned that I saw him in 99 on the double bill tour with Paul Simon. He was ****in' awful. Sometimes it took the entire song for me to figure out what exactly he was playing - and I'm a longtime Dylan fan.

His song writing is spot on, but his performing was never great in my opinion and now it doesn't even hold most peoples interest.

Do you have Dylan's "Royal Albert Hall" Concert from 1966, that was released on CD a few years back? Amazing gig, some of the songs sound even better than on record. I'd say as a peformer he was brilliant back then, so you should check that out soon. Of course, knowing you you probably actually saw him in his peak :D
