Not only did I walk out, I walked out from the frickin' front row! LOL Like I said, I just couldn't take it, and I figured why should I? I know he's a great songwriter. Unfortunately, he isn't a great singer.

His song writing is spot on, but his performing was never great in my opinion and now it doesn't even hold most peoples interest.

He also doesn't seem to care if he does or not. His band was set up at the very back of the stage . . . as far away from the audience as possible! LOL Mellencamp and his band were right up front at the edge of the stage, and it seemed like Dylan would have set up off-stage if he could have.

Sorry to disappoint, Ferret, but I tried it and just couldn't do it. (The show is on DIME if you want to see if you would have enjoyed it.) I fought horrible traffic to get to the show and knew I'd be back in it if I forced myself to stay. If Mellencamp had been last, wild horses wouldn't have gotten me out early, and I'd have happily blasted his music while I inched along.

I've got more into Dylan's modern gigs recently (though I admittedly didn't go to any gigs on his last UK Tour). I've got a few bootlegs and I enjoy listening to them provided I accept he's not going to sing the songs like they were on record. Not that I don't wish he would! :)

U2 @ Wembley Stadium - They absolutely ROCKED!

Now I'm gutted that I don't have another ticket :(

88,000 - A New Wembley RECORD!

Pearl Jam in Manchester ... review on the Pearl Jam thread :D

Also it occurs to me I never posted about my last gig prior to Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails with Jane's Addiction at the 02.

Jane's Addiction were good, opening with Three Days was an odd move (basically the equivalent of Bon Jovi opening with Dry County), but it was still pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I was right up in the fourth level seating area (the highest level), so I couldn't make out the finer details of how the band looked that well. Still an electrifying performance, and their encore of Jane Says with steel drums and the band sitting with acoustic guitars at various points around the stage was very cool.

NIN were awesome, plain and simple. Of course, I was still bloody miles away, but I could still see enough of how energetic (and perhaps slightly deranged) the band were, and I could hear how well they pummeled out the songs. Was great to hear a few songs that I didn’t see them play live last time I saw them … Down In It being the main one that springs to mind. And a special guest appearance by the legend that is Gary Numan to play a couple of songs to perform a couple of his song (Metal and Cars) with the band was definitely something to be remembered!

Nickelback and Creed at Jones Beach. Nickelback have definitely learned how to make a great show from Jovi :)

Jimmy Barnes. If anybody has the bootleg of the show where he opened for BJ and then they both jammed on Working Class Man, let me know.

Wasn't a big thing. I didn't make a scene or anything. Just ducked out. And I wasn't the only one leaving. With that line-up (Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Bob Dylan), I'm sure I wasn't the only person who was really only interested in one or two of them.

The husband scored himself one of the last tickets for Them Crooked Vultures, who'll perform tonight. God, I'm so jealous!
