The Quireboys in Belfast on Fri night, and then Toby Jepson (ex Little Angels) in Sheffield on Sat night.

Both shows were excellent, although Toby was my favourite out of the two :D

Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Blaine Larson

Red Hot Chili Peppers last night at the Air Canada Centre.
I have to disagree with everyone who said they are boring live.
The Toronto crowd was really into it. I had the crappiest seat imaginable (3rd level, very high up stuck in a corner), but everyone around me was dancing & singing along during the whole show. The audience rocked almost more than the chili peppers ;) The set list was great too and the crowd freaked out when they played Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2 followed by Smells like teen spirit. LOL

I am really glad I decided to go!

It was really good. He played for about 2.5 hours and even his greatest hits still bear the same amount of emotions as they must have when he wrote them.

Ticket prices were way too high for my appreciation ($160) though and the only reason I even got tickets was because I happened to get really really good seats and couldn't pass them up.

I saw Elton John back when he toured with Billy Joel and had crappy seats which made it for a not so pleasant experience.

I'd like to see good old Elton, but the ticket prices over here are in the hundreds, it's ridiculous! No way I'd pay that much to see him!!!

ShaSha 09-28-2006 05:28 PM

The Rolling Stones

The reason why I haven't seen the Stones and most likely will never see them. There is nothing about either that justifies hundreds of dollars!

choclady 09-28-2006 06:30 PM

i'll probably get the "cheap" tickets that are around $60...

i really really want to see him

Yeah. I'd like to see the Stones, too, but not for that price. If I'm paying hundreds I really have to like the band!

It's a shame, there are so many bands that would be "nice to see" but I wouldn't pay hundreds for the priviledge. The ticket prices are mostly outrageous.

Just get yourself a set of parents who are so crazy about the Stones that they actually get you a ticket :D :p!

So yeah... I went to the Stones... ;)... in July and saw one of the best concerts I've ever seen :). It's amazing what these guys, running towards their 70s, still can achieve onstage.

It was one of those bands that I felt I just had to see at least once in my life, being grown up with the music and all. I really really enjoyed it.

Neurotica80 10-02-2006 11:05 PM

I saw 4 stand up comedians on Sat night dunno if that counts :D They were good though

choclady 10-04-2006 07:26 PM

James Blunt last night :D

it was really good, I loved his new songs. Wonder when the new album is coming out?

He also played a great version of "Where is my mind" :)

Becky 10-04-2006 10:24 PM

I saw Keith Urban in Hull, I mean Atlanta, over the weekend. LOL Apparently it was the end of the world as we all knew it according to some. :D

Why, it was a bad show? I'm curious since I'm going to see him for the first time in a few weeks!

It wasn't a BAD show, it was a SHORT show (about an hour and ten minutes). I've got a review/pix going up on Unrated Magazine's site soon and will post a link. A LOT of people are really pissed off b/c it was a fan club event and it was so short. Me, I'm disappointed and would have hated for anyone to go to that show on my recommendation, but I look at it like one disappointing show out of 16 is pretty insignificant. I think everyone expected it to be longer because it was being filmed and instead it was shorter.

Then, of course, there are the assumptions made about his mood, motives, and what all is going on in his head. It seriously reminds me of the Hull reactions. You know, stuff like, "He doesn't care about his fans anymore! He was in a bad mood! Nicole was there and wouldn't let him play for long!" It's just been ridiculous.

Oh, actually, if you want it, I can send you a link to a video of one of the new songs. I can't post it here because it's a direct download link. PM me if you want it.

Deep Purple in Brussels this year!

Ollie 10-04-2006 11:50 PM

Pearl Jam for me i think...

Mr Bluesman 10-05-2006 02:14 PM

Maximo Park - they were awesome. The Octagon doesn't hold many people but last night I'm pretty sure everyone was rockin', it was so hot and sweaty!

I agree. I was a bit of a neutral before I saw the footage of them from Leeds (they were playing same time as Pearl Jam so naturally I was elsewhere) and they looked awesome. Paul Smith is a very energetic frontman and it really rubbed off onto the crowd. They've got some great anthems. I definitely recommend them.

anas_jovi 10-09-2006 01:35 AM

i saw pakistani Rocker Ali Azmat playin in india few days before

Mad4Jovi 10-20-2006 03:43 PM

Roadstar (previously Hurricane Party) in Liverpool last night.

Excellent gig, shame the co-headliners The Answer were pish

ShaSha 10-22-2006 08:09 PM

Well I was supposed to see Keith Urban on Friday but because of his entering rehab that was cancelled. :(
But we did get to see Kevin Costner's band (yes THAT Kevin Costner) who also had a show at Mohegan Sun that night. LOL

choclady 10-22-2006 09:51 PM

The Fray last night. They were great :D

Sambo-Chris 10-22-2006 11:11 PM

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes on Oct. 13 and 14. Great as always :).

I don't think they know how to put on a bad show. I saw them several times this year and they were excellent.

InMe supported by Brigade and Death For A Day ... I was pretty drunk (it was my birthday, I'm allowed to be!) so of course I had alot of fun but it means I missed some of the stuff I would have paid more attention to if I'd been sober. Still, it rocked, I managed to get almost right to the front, it was an awesome tiny venue, and they really have some great songs, even though they played a few too many new ones IMO ... and, erm, the last song, Chamber, may have made me cry ....

Tell me more! I missed him when he played a small venue last year and he came back this year to play in this horrid huge venue up north. So, I didn't go even though my son ADORES him.

What size venue was it and how did he perform?

Whaaaaat? And you just stand there? DO SOMETHING!

The only explanation I see is he's in love with a girl that's in love with James Blunt.

Blunt... enough said.

(Really Miss, you and your neanderthals..)

I don't feel threatened by that comment. My son is into American Football now and has no time for girls (or boys :p) and I'll make sure it will stay this way for the next 20 some years.

Then, MAYBE, I'll introduce him to your daughter :D :D :D :D

(Blunt is everything a boy dreams of: soldier and rockstar in one.... sigh)

Well, he played the Air Canada Centre here, which is huuge! The show was really great, even though I do think his music fits smaller venues better. The best thing about the show was, that he seemed genuinely surprised at how much people actually liked him and his music, he almost seemed embarressed for being up on that big stage.

I was surprised that his songs had so much energy live, they didn't seem as slow as on the CD...he might yet become a rock act ;)

I saw James Dean Bradfield in Dundee a couple of weeks ago (manic street preachers lead singer) and he was awesome, very intimate gig of 250 people. Can't wait until the new manics stuff next year

windy miller 11-06-2006 10:57 AM

It seems that people really like or really dislike JB!...I've seen him twice..and think he's excellent!...and the album is not full of love songs, it has some real depth and shouldn't be judged on the singles! He supports Medicins san Frontiers http://www.msf.org/ supporting Doctors in war torn areas and has raised thousands at his shows.

Yvonne 11-07-2006 11:29 PM

Sissor Sisters last night, absolutely blown away!!!!!!! best show ive seen!!!! and plus Jake came out into the crowd and was stood 2 ft from where i was, i was so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
