Europe last Thursday. Very good actually, even though Joey made the show all by himself.

choclady 11-08-2006 07:46 AM

The new foo? You mean the last one? That double album that they had planned on supporting with two nights per city but didn't and now screwed themselves by supporting BD instead....

While I am not glad you had a boring time, it does feel kinda good that it seems everybody seeing Bob Dylan has the same experience/feeling.

I really do love Dylans new album and was soooooo close to buying a ticket - once again. Even though when I saw him he played in a little venue and this time at the arena and I left half way through last time. I do love their opening act over here (Kings of Leon) and they would have been the only reason for me to go. Anyway, I was tough and resisted repeated attacks of weakness and am really glad, I didn't spend $80 for the same all over again. As a friend said to me after I told him about my first Dylan experience and my contmplating seeing him again: "if it sucked the first time, it ain't going to be any better in a huge venue"....

i dont think i'll ever buy a ticket to see him live again. the worst part was that he wasn't even facing the audience...we were privileged enough to see his back :s

@Kathleen: Yes, yes. And I should have listened! But I couldn't miss the Foo Fighters!! LOL

eriK 11-10-2006 08:02 PM

Europe, a good rockshow.

ShaSha 11-11-2006 06:35 PM

Guns N' Roses last night at Madison Square Garden. Words can not even describe how awesome this show was. Axl sounded unbelievably good and I don't think I've ever seen a more enthusiastic crowd at any concert in my entire life!

Peter Mc 11-12-2006 12:27 AM

Opeth last night absolutely awesome, amazing, majestic, imperious and any other superlative you care to mention.

ShaSha 11-14-2006 02:18 AM

Saw Meat Loaf last night. The show itself was soooooooo good but the audience SUCKED big time. That kind of brought the whole thing down. :(

yomamasofat 11-14-2006 04:22 AM

TSO. Totally Awesome.

Well I cant really add much mroe to that detailed review can I??!!! Nah it was great, they are the band of the moment, it was fantasic to hear 3000 ppl sing "I got soul but im not a soldier" but it really sounded more like 30000. They played Indie Rock and Roll which I havnt heard live before either :D

Heres a short vid clip of Bling

Anyone who has tickets to see them is in for a treat!!

Mr Bluesman 11-20-2006 02:19 AM

Went to see Muse on Friday night at Nottingham. I unexpectedly got given a free ticket, which was too good to pass up. After experiencing my second live Muse gig I still don't rate them as highly as most. They were good, but by no means the best.

Hehe, that was just before the Australia v Brazil game in Munich. About 1000 of us outside the Hard Rock Cafe getting into the spirit of things. Though we lost the match, it was a great day! Let's just say I had a bout of WC Fever! lol

Sara 11-28-2006 02:53 PM

Saw Iron Maiden yesterday in Den Bosch, The Netherlands.

And they were great :D! They played the complete new album + Fear of the dark, Iron Maiden, Minute to midnight, The evil that men do & Hallowed be thy name. The audience didn't seem to know the new album very well, which was a pity, so it took until FOTD for the audience to really explode, but Maiden sounded perfect all the same. They once again confirmed the fact that they're simply one of the best live bands around.

They'll be back in summer 2008 for a new tour with all older songs... I'll certainly be there!

Yvonne 11-28-2006 10:21 PM

scissor sisters (friday and saturday) LOVED them!!!!! heres to the next time!!!!

the killers (sunday) was a good show but blackpool in september was better!

Neurotica80 11-29-2006 12:13 AM

Scissor Sisters - Wembley Arena

Killers - Brixton.

SS were a great laugh, they know how to put on a good show. Jakes voice live is pretty good also, Dont feel like dancing brought the house down.

The Killers - once again great live, BRandons voice is def getting stronger as the tour goes on. Brixton academy is a fantasic small venue, with the raised floor you cant really have a bad view in there.

I saw Simon & Garfunkel in '82 at Wembley Stadium...amazing...and I love it when Richie and Jon cover their songs! :D

Saw Paolo Nutini last night at Manchester Academy...blinking heck he's only a baby!...but he was brilliant....very cool and very talented!...some of it was quite "country" I guess...which I liked!..but the last song "rainbow" (I think it was called)...really rocked!:D

choclady 12-01-2006 07:22 PM

I saw Sloan at the Kool Haus last night.
Really really great show! I was so happy when they played my fav song off the new album ("I understand") and then of course my friend and I went crazy when "The rest of my life" came on. :D

grebochik 12-13-2006 04:43 PM

ShaSha 12-13-2006 11:11 PM

Goo Goo Dolls
Barenaked Ladies
Daughtry
Five For Fighting
Guster
Smashmouth
KT Tunstall

all at a radio station Christmas show last night.

Mr Bluesman 12-16-2006 04:04 PM

Snow Patrol at G Mex last night, just down the road from where I'd seen them earlier this year. Very good, as usual. This was the first time I'd seen them in a large venue and I've gotta say I think they do better with a more intimate crowd. The sound wasn't so good on a few songs which annoyed me and they still don't play enough old songs. Still, we got Starfighter Pilot and You Are My Joy which, even though nobody else knew, I thought were fantastic.

Captain Walrus 12-23-2006 02:04 PM

IRON MAIDEN - Absolutely awesome. Of course the music and performances were top notch, the show itself was also fantastic ... the set was great, having even the roadies dressed in combat gear was a masterstroke! And the tank at the end of the main set, brilliant.

There was also a technical difficulty in the middle of the show where the main power cable for the building caught fire and melted! So the entire sound system had to be turned off for about 20 minutes. While some other bands (*cough*Placebo*cough*) might have just left the stage, Maiden did their best to keep us entertained without sound, with Bruce finding a megaphone and leading us through singalongs of various Christmas songs :D

Did they play all of Matter of Life & Death again? They did that when I saw them a month ago anyway. Thought it was a pretty courageous thing to do, playing all new songs first. The audience didn't seem to pickup the new songs as well as the older ones, which was a pity. But the crowd exploded when they started Fear o/t Dark. I really enjoyed Maiden this year, but liked them better when they mixed up the older & new songs :).

That was a very neat way to handle the sound problems btw; that's what I like about Maiden, they just know how to keep a crowd entertained :).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they've been playi ng AMoLAD in its entirety for the whole tour. It actually worked better than I expected, and actually, thinking back on it, the sound problem actually helped to break it up a bit

Christo 12-24-2006 03:57 AM

I saw a band called the Saturns last night and from what I remember, they were very good. I was plastered though, so my judgement could be very dodgy in this instance, but I do remember that the guitarist only had half of one hand!! He played well still, though.

Emil 01-04-2007 12:55 AM

Hardcore Superstar, again in their hometown. Amazing as always, though I have some complains about the set.

Peterson 01-18-2007 04:31 PM

Last gig I was at was Jay-Z in Glasgow.

I'm not really a fan but my mate had a ticket goin spare, so just went along.

choclady 01-20-2007 09:36 PM

i think the last one i went to was Stabilo in Toronto in december.
The one before that was a really awesome SLOAN show at the end of november :D
