|
Hinder Wed night at Islington Academy........not bad.
|
Blue Rodeo a couple of weeks ago, and going to see Rod Stewart and Bryan Adams in the near future.
|
No Doubt - decent enough show. Basically, a greatest hits setlist so roughly 15 songs. Random side note, I would kill to have Gwen Stefani's body lol
|
Ting Tings at Ibiza Rocks hotel supported by Zane Lowe. Not my cup of tea but really good fun gig! First time iv ever seen a gig round a hotel pool too.
My sisters asked me to go see Dizzie Rascal later this year........oh how well they know me haha |
i just got back from glastonbury! saw quite a lot of bands but i'll try and remember them all :p
Friday Bjorn Again - Cheesy but actually quite fun, got the crowd going The Virgins - they were great and definately worth checking out if you dont know them VV Brown - she was alrite, quite simple stuff (some stuff based around chopsticks etc) Lady Gaga - Suprisingly good! didnt really want to see her though, just found myself at the other stage when she was about to come on so i stayed! she also revealed more than she planned to ;) Ray Davies - he was great! ( i gave up neil young for him and think i did completely the right thing) lola, sunday morning, I'm so tired, all day and all night, waterloo sunset were all amazing sing-a-long! substances may have made him better than he actually was though :p and one problem! no you really got me! saturday [u]Rolf Harris[/b] never seen a musician so up his own arse! but that aside he was quite good in a cheesy way! pete doherty seen doherty 3 times now and this was the worst! he was so out of it! played a few libertines songs though which was suprising! paolo nutini he was really good! his new album sounded amazing live, just really good upbeat music kasabian never been a fan and ive seen them before so knew exactly what to expect, again they did nothing for me what so ever but got the crowd going, good performance i just dont like the band Bruce Springsteen the boss was amazing! ive seen him before but this performance blew that one out of the water, he's probably the best musician ive seen live maybe even better than macca. His set was great and i got so many songs i didnt the first time which was great :D the river was my highlight of the night! sunday status quo they were great, amazing music and just good fun! tom jones he was amazing! played all the hits and had some great sing-a-longs, definately worth seeing madness i dont know much madness apart from the hits, but they were still great, fantastic performance and all! the magic numbers they were great, i really enjoyed them! black eyed peas i didnt know who to see at this times but i knew for 100% that i didnt want to see blur, and i stumbled upon these, they werent great (by no means) but they played everything youd want with them, quite a few covers which was good as i dont much of there stuff and a michael jackson tribute section which was really nice all in all id give it a 10/10! amazing festival. other bands who i didnt see the full set are: fleet foxes: heard about 2/3 songs and thought they were very good regina spector: not bad, great voice eagles of death metal: love a bit of sleazy rock n roll! bon iver: not bad, bit depressing but quite moving aswell and thats all can remember but my mate has a list :p ill update later if i missed any out |

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at The Stone Pony last Thursday night. One of the better shows of theirs I've seen - super high energy and very tight.

wots goin on, she lypsincs for heavens sake |
Keith Urban @ Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Yes, it is country, but the man can REALLY play the guitar! His bandmates aren't shabby either.
|
The Wallflowers put on a really, really electric show. Not balls out rock, but still really good. And this comes from someone who doesn't know their music all that well.
|
just got back from green day. I'll post a review tomorow.

The last live act I have seen? Well... a bunch actually.
I went to the Hurricane Festival...lots of awesome bands! My favourites that weekend: The Whip (for me the best electronic live act there currently is! :D) Keane (played lots of stuff from "Hopes and Dreams" :D and only a couple from the new album. thank god) Social Distortion (brilliant as always! although they didnt play my fav song ) Bosse (german band. i dont even have enough words to describe their awesomeness!) Tomte (another german band and one of my favourites. played a great set including all the songs i wanted to hear) The Wombats (one of the bands with the best atmosphere in the audience, really got the germans going! lol) The Gaslight Anthem (did not think they would be this good live! very solid play of instruments, connected well with the audience) Brand New (didnt really know them before, but they are great!) Blood Red Shoes (what can i say? awesome! go see them if you can! its amazing what you can get out of just two instruments and two voices) Auletta (german band. i like their tunes :)) Franz Ferdinand (we danced till we dropped and sang till we had no voice anymore :D) I was extremely disappointed by Kings of Leon. I have seldom seen such an arrogant band. If it wasnt for just a couple of songs noone would even know them and i doubt they will be around for very long... |

to say they dont connect with the audience would be more than an understatement! not only did they not make a connection to the audience, but they even insulted us by calling us "sleepy and slow and not quite awake". maybe it had something to do with their lame songs and this was actually a rock festival so people were expecting to be able to rock  |

Love, love, love their albums, though!!! Totally a band to enjoy by myself rather than go and see them live... Last band I saw: Green Day - kick off to their 21st Century Tour. Great as always - I wish I had half that energy that Billy Joe puts forth.... |
Was meant to be at The O2 tonight, witnessing the Comeback of the Century :(

I've seen them a few times and although they're definitely not my favourite band on disc, they're pretty great live imo. Got tickets to see them and jay z the week before I head to saudi but I'm probably more psyched about jay z's support slot. |

I don't get why the Media have to hype up the refund saga. Everyone knows that if a gig gets cancelled, you get refunded. It's just another story they like to report about extensively. |

I really like their albums, but was very surprised how great they are live (given their rather mellow music). Saw them first on the Twisted Logic tour because my son kept begging to go see them..... Have seen them 3 times since. They usually trot to the other side of the venue (arena or ampitheater in this case) and do some acoustic songs, then trot back. This time, one of their acoustic selection was "Billy Jean". Put goose bumps on my skin - not because of the meaning, but because Chris Martin really isn't a good singer ;) and didn't exactly hit the right keys.... but thought the gesture was HUGE and just love CM more for that.... |

ever since the memorial service, the media seems to grasp straws to have something - just anything to report on MJ...... time to give it a rest... |
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Hampden Park, Glasgow :D

Saw Southside Johnny last night on the Rockin the River cruise. We got extremely lucky and it stopped raining for almost 12 hours here in Jersey. The sun even came out
They played 2 sets on the boat that were awesome. It was such a small place that we got to stand 5 feet in front of the lead singer. It's the sort of in your face experience you don't get with Jovi or Bruce. Both sets were completely different with only 3 songs repeated - something that you never get with Bon Jovi. So we had the Manhattan skyline, a gorgeous sunset, a bar right next to us, and 2 sets of live music. We even stopped at a Jersey diner on the way home for food. Who could ask for anything more? |
I'm so jealous of the above that I can't see straight! LOL I so want to see Southside with the Jukes, and just haven't been able to work it out yet. He just doesn't come to the South. I've seen Southside with the big band and most of the Jukes with JBJ at the fan club show, but I want to see the package deal! Kathleen, unless the upcoming Jovi tour gets in the way, I'm gonna really try for that January date at BB King's!
I saw John Mellencamp last night, and he was terrific. He's touring with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, so he only has a little more than an hour. He's doing a really well thought out set -- some old songs (and not all hits either, and he's actually dropped the big hit Jack & Diane and the world hasn't come to an end ), some songs from his last album, a song he's just recorded for his next album, and even a few songs in the middle with just John and his acoustic guitar. I absolutely loved it, and I'm really hoping he won't skip the South on his next solo tour like he did last year. |
