Been offered a placement in county down with the national trust starting in july...so if any of you ppl know anything about the place...Like its full of crazy people dont go there...stuff like that..itd be good ta hear...

It's a lovely country. Both the place and the people so I have no doubt you'd enjoy it.

I'm hoping to head back over in August for the 1st time in years. I miss it

I'll only be in belfast for a couple of days but who knows.

Keep an eye for a handsome charming young scotsman, probably durnk and his bald fat father also probably drunk (which is what the handsome young one will look like in 20 years :cry: )

I dunno too much about county down in general but I've got mates with family all over Ireland and mates in the army stationed in various places and I've never heard a bad word about any part of it.

hopefully you'll be in a wee village. my best mates mum is from some postcard place on the western border and some of the stories my mate comes back with when he visists his extended family are amazing.

providing you like gambling, drinking and random acts of an illegal nature of course 8)

Think I mite be in a small villagy type place. The reserve is called Murlough Nature reserve and apparently close to newcastle and an all night tescos so there is civilisation out there and beers to be had! :lol:

Just my driving test to pass now before I get out there!

Newcastles only about 30 miles outside belfast if my memory serves me correctly (as it usually does) so you're not exactly on Craggy Island :)

Aye, newcastle is like 28miles from belfast. The whole Newcastle area with the Mourne Mountain range and forest parks is lovely. There is the usual spyde/steek/townie/chav infestation in newcastle but thats the same in any town i guess, youl be grand.
If you are, and im sure you will be, headin up here to belfast i can recomend a good deal of places. But they took away our Hard rock cafe so the pilgrimage to see Richies guitar that was there is now of the cards im afraid.
