PHONED IN FROM VEGAS...
(Sunday, May 1, 2005) Amidst the roar of people on a casino floor and the kerplinging of quarters from slot machines, here's the message we received to pass along... BON JOVI KICKED ASS in the desert Saturday night, April 30th. They performed on an outdoor stage erected in the parking lot outside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino SET LIST: LIVIN' ON A PRAYER YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME THE RADIO SAVED MY LIFE TONIGHT RUNAWAY IT'S MY LIFE BORN TO BE MY BABY JUST OLDER I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE RAISE YOUR HANDS I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD BAD MEDICINE SHOUT The band left the stage briefly and then returned for an encore WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME (a NEW SONG off the forthcoming Bon Jovi album) SHOUT! Here's a bunch of assorted tidbits we were asked to pass along as well: Inside the main entrance doors, the Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora window had the usual stage clothes swapped out for the gold leather suits/shoes from the 100,000,000 BON JOVI FANS CAN'T BE WRONG boxset photoshoot. Tico and David's will join them (the gold suits will remain on display for a while) as will the 100M plaque dedicated to Peter Morton and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The entire weekend was a celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and VIPS were all over the hotel. With several other big events in Vegas this same weekend (including Michael Douglas hosting a golf tournament in which Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear were playing...) there were lots of sightings at the hotel throughout the weekend and the concert, including Alice Cooper, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Jessica Alba, William Petersen, Martin Sheen... also seen floating around Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro, Carmen Electra, Michael Strahan. The band had't done a show since last Novemver's concert at The Borgata in Atlantic City; all band was in New Jersey for a rehearsal night last Monday. The stage was built just for this show - out from storage came the brick building rooftop setup from the Crush tour. There were no fan pits up on stage for this show. There was a major red carpet (look for the photos in entertainment magazinese and on syndicated photo websites... look for TV footage on the entertainment news programs.) EXTRA! got exclusive access to Bon Jovi's soundcheck and interviewed Jon... EXTRA! also had all the celebs visiting them sign a Philadelphia Soul football jersey that will be auctioned off for charity (more info on that in the coming weeks...) Look for EXTRA! to cover this event on Monday's broadcast, with more footage on football, the Soul, the auction later... Friday night, COLDPLAY performed at The Joint - band members attended. Saturday night, NINE INCH NAILS performed at The Joint - band members attended. |
Which means these shows might show a snippet of the new song. Excellent.

point sorta is, the band is choosing to play to "selected" audience, average joes who'll dance to whatever they choose to play, and backstagers who'll dance to whatever they play, as long as there's decent view on jons-u-know-what. |
