Here is a reason to leave some of the world off a world tour

For those of you who are taking swipes at bands for not going to Latin America:Medellin Columbia: Columbia boasts the highest murder rate in Latin America and the country has the worlds highest kidnapping rate. Medellin is the most dangerous place in the Americas.
Sao Paulo, Brazil: Sao Paulo had more murders than rival deathtrap Rio de Janerio last year, including 73 animals at the city zoo.
Caracas, Venezuela:Travelers are warned to arrive during daylight to avoid being robbed leaving the airport. Venezuela is a politically volitale country, so demonstrations and bombings are widespread.
mexico City, mexico: The Dept. of State proclaims the crime level "critical". Cars are regularly stopped and robbed for valuables, often by local police.
Guatelmala City, Guatelmala: Inept law enforcement and massive corruption have led to what the United nations terms " an uncontainable spiral of violence". the Mayan ruins are a popular place for beating sightseers.
So i guess this explains the reason behind bands like U2 (no latin american dates on the schedule all year) motley crue (north america , europe only) and BJ leaving this part of the world off tours. It's sad and it sucks for fans from that part of the world but I don't blame any band for not wanting to risk their staffs and crews, much less themselves or even fans if someone decided to Bomb a stadium during a show or start a riot, for not putting this part of the world on a tour.

…and again….why other bands (Metallica, Iron Maiden….) went to play in these countries during the last 5/6 years?

i think that the band can afford professional security so that none of them incl. their staff are in danger. the major reason is that playing in those countries would make no sense from the business point of view. hardly anyone there can afford 55€ for a ticket so they'd have to lower the ticket prices dramatically, you'd have to pay for extra security, and no-one could afford buying gimmicks like t-shirts, tourbooks etc. so the reasons why they don't play there anymore are economical ones...

right...they should reduce the amount of their "pay-cheque" to reduce the amount of ticket's price...poor people..they got bills to pay...

I don't particularly think that it is a main reason, but there for sure is a difference between rock stars in their twenties at their peak and midfourties all having children and families. And before you pick on it, I know very well that Stephanie Rose was born in 93 and that Tico wasn't in his twenties anymore.

Bullshit! In the past 5 years, Kiss, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Guns N Roses, among others, went to Brazil... And, in september, Scorpions will be there... So, this isn't a reasonable excuse for that
