can anyone tell me how long Richie and Cher were together? cause I heard that Stranger is mostly about the separation from Cher but I saw a tv show from 92 where Richie is asked if he`s gonna marry cher, unfortunatley he starts to answer and the show is over and well he doesn`t have to say anymore.

They were separated before he finished recording Stranger. He took Bekka Bramlett to the VMA's in 1990 when the band was given the Video Vanguard Award.

thx. but why did someone ask him if he marries Cher in 92 if they`d been separtated for 2 years???????? I mean I would be less confused had he just sad that they aren`t together anymore but he avoided answering

The interviewer wasn't up to date with his info and Richie didn't want to answer a personal question?

Richie and Cher did remain friends, and he credits her with encouraging him in the project, but the relationship was over before Stranger ever was released.

Bekka? Former fiance of Jani Lane from Warrant. She was one of those girls who got around the metal circuit. His ex Lehua Reid, a Playboy bunny, claimed that he was carrying on with her while he was still with Cher too. She was on some tabloid TV show making accusations at the time.
