Im curious , who plays the lottery ?

I do when I remember probably about twice a month usually, Ive noticed over the years that I have broken even and won back the money I have played with. Recently I have been playing the Euro millions on a Fri night and Ive been winning more often , not huge amounts but still my winnings are higher at the moment.

sometimes .. not very often ... the probability to win a lot of money is so tiny :shock:

I've never bothered, as I know it is obviously possible to win but despite the fact that I don't tend to gamble on anything the odds with the lotto are rather mad;

1 ball = 8/1
2 balls = 78/1
3 balls = 921/1
4 balls = 14,125/1
5 balls = 317,814/1
6 balls = 13,983,816/1

(yes I got bored and worked them out)

odds of Euro millions is higher than what u have stated .
Its on the back of the ticket someone 1.39 wins £6.70

Well I just calculated those odds based on them using 49 balls, I don't know if the euro lottery is different.

I do when there's a jackpot or something. So far my biggest prize were 8 euros :?

nope. never bothered with the lottery or scratchcards.

I don't mind putting a line on football or boxing when the odds are decent or I feel lucky and the casino is cool but scratch cards are evilist form of "socially acceptable" addiction.

I used to play the lottery every couple of weeks or so, but I gave up when I wasnt winning anything. 49 of us from work do our own lottery, we all have our own number (Mine is 22), we just stick in a pound each week and whatever the bonus ball is on a saturday, that person wins the £49. You dont miss a pound a week, and although its no big jackpot, its still nice to win just under £50. Chances are you will win once a year! Iv wont three times in two years I think.
